A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Chi Cheng
Age: was 42
Occupation: former bassist, Deftones
Last Seen: in the great beyond
Awarded For: helping to change rock 'n roll
---

God has added a new bass player to his band.

Chi Cheng was part of one of rock's most-groundbreaking bands, The Deftones. As their bass player, he played on the band's first six albums and even recorded a solo album in 2000 of spoken word recordings called The Bamboo Parachute. When The Deftones arrived on the scene with their first album Adrenaline in 1995, rock itself was going through major changes. It was a year after the death of Kurt Cobain and grunge was dead and gone. Alternative rock had gone in two directions: pop or metal.

In 1995 while I was on my 8th grade class trip to Washington, DC, one of the cities we drove through was Cleveland, and my Walkman was tuned to WENZ/107.9 The End, a killer alternative station that has sadly since flipped to urban. I even remembered them playing the uncensored version of Alanis Morissette's "Hand In My Pocket" ("I'm brave, but I'm chicken shit"). One of the songs I heard was Deftones' "Seven Words", and thought it was one of the most-badassed tunes I've ever heard. I thought Chino Moreno was yelling "fuck" multiple times, but he was only saying "suck". To me, it was bands like Deftones, KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Tool and others that were saving rock from late 90's wussiness by adding in a sense of rebellion and raw power.

Like many rockers, Chi Cheng was very outspoken. He was a vegetarian and a Buddhist. But he loved his basses. He often toured with five or six Fenders and moved over to five-stringers before the incident that ended his professional playing career.

And it happened on November 4th, 2008.

While riding passenger in a car driven by his sister, Mae, the car he was in struck another car and flipped three times. He wasn't wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the car. Mae, who was wearing her seat belt and only sustained minor injuries held up Chi's head until EMTs arrived. A tube was fed into his throat to help him breathe. Although he survived the accident, Chi was left in a coma. Although his condition improved, he was still in a semi-conscious state. He started recognizing people and started to sound out words a few years after the accident.

A website, OneLoveForChi.com was created by his family to help offset his medical expenses. A myriad of support came from his fans and friends. Many benefit concerts were thrown by Deftones and other bands to help pay his bills.

Although his condition improved tremendously, on Saturday, Chi was rushed to the hospital after his heart stopped. He passed away that evening at the age of 42. Although he made a stupid mistake by not wearing his seat belt, which would have saved his life, his fans forgave him and helped offset his growing medical bills. After his passing, several fans donated $1,000 as a word of thanks to the now-fallen musician.

Sometimes, you need to be a bee-otch to be a hero. Some people think that wearing helmets on bikes is stupid, but when they get into an accident, they think otherwise. Same goes with car accidents and the lack of seat belts. I always wear mine, and I've been in two accidents. They are life savers.

Lack of restraint or not, Chi was a genius on the bass, and made the Deftones who they are. Now that he's gone, I do hope the band will release the long-awaited Eros, the last album he played on (since his accident, the band has released two albums without Chi). I think it will be a fitting tribute to him, and his family and fans will agree. It's a shame that in a world filled with no-talents, Chi had to be taken from us.
Although The Deftones have found his replacement, nobody will ever replace Chi Cheng.

Name: Motion Picture Association of America
Age: 91
Occupation: film rating organization
Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: still not getting their priorities straight
---

This was a very bad week for 70-year-olds.

First, it was iconic film critic Roger Ebert, whose thumbs-up film reviews helped stir up popularity for the movies. Then, just Monday, it was Annette Funicello, who was the Mickey Mouse Club's most-popular Mousketeer, who later evolved into being a bikini hottie in several 1960's beach movies.

While Annette went from being a G-rated Disney playmate to a PG-rated beauty of the beach, Ebert was a criticizer of the movie industry itself, often rattling on the Motion Picture Association of America for not getting their priorities straight. Both of these recent passings can be well intertwined in the most-recent film I saw at the theatre, Spring Breakers.

The movie stars two Disney alumni - Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez - alongside Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine - as four college girls who rob a restaurant to get the money they needed to go to Florida for Spring Break. However, the four party just a little too hard and get busted for underage drinking. However, they're bailed out by a white rapper - played by James Franco - who leads them into a life of crime. The movie itself was hailed by critics and did well at the box office - $15 million on a $5 million budget - but I personally only gave it 2 1/2 out of four stars.

In Ebert terms, "thumbs down".

Yeah, the film's loaded with boobies and butts (and not to mention, it was panned by the son of Ebert rival Michael Medved, who thought this film should have received an NC-17 rating) and the film had a decent plot, most of the movie's characters were unlikable and didn't relate well to me. Not to mention, it's proof on how the film rating business is.

Of the four main female characters, only Selena Gomez's character doesn't get naked (bear in mind, she leaves for home 1/3 way into the movie because she felt uncomfortable about hanging out a rapper who's loaded with drugs and guns, plus she's a Christian in the film). Rachel Korine shows off her boobs and butt in a shower scene after she gets shot by Franco's rival in the film (rapper Gucci Mane) while the other two get freaky with Franco in a nighttime pool scene where nary a buttcrack is shown. True, we've seen Ms. Hudgens nude before (ahem), but I've not seen a real nude of Benson.

Yes, I love it when a chick gets naked in front of a camera, and shows nothing. True, she might be wearing pasties and modesty patches, but we the audience who pay $10 to see them nude end up feeling that the door gets slammed on us. Hell, even those ugly ass bitches that got freaky with Mane's character towards the end of the movie showed more skin (sadly).

True, Spring Breakers is a very racy movie, but I don't recall a scene with bush. Why? It's not a kid's movie. Plus, people who grew up with Hudgens and Gomez aren't kids anymore, either.

My answer is sad, but true: one bush whisker = NC-17. A few years ago, I saw a documentary on the MPAA called This Film is Not Yet Rated, which was about how the MPAA works. Many in the film business aren't happy with their ratings methods because they feel that in too many cases, they're promoting censorship. Even Maria Bello - who showed off her landing strip in The Cooler - felt urked when they slammed her movie with an NC-17 only because there was a scene where a man kisses the area around her genitals for not even five seconds. The movie did get an R-rating only after the producers edited that scene out.

But yet, when it comes to violence and manslaughter everywhere, the MPAA could care less. There's LOTS of PG-13 films with gruesome violence and killings. Hell, look at the last Batman movie. Even worse, look at what happened in Aurora, CO.

Sadly, the people who caused the shootings in Aurora, Sandy Hook and too many others were fans of bloody movies and video games. Yet, you never hear about people having 66 kids from watching too much porn or sexy movies. Why?

Personally, it's how the business is run. When the original Hays Code was created, no sex or profanity was allowed, but yet guns and killing were still OK as long as it wasn't bloody. When the Hays Code was finally abolished in 1968 and replaced with the ratings code, it did free up what filmmakers could do, even allowing hardcore sex on screen. But, things weren't totally perfect. Many were angry that too many films fell between a PG and an R, so PG-13 was created in 1984. In 1990, NC-17 was created because filmmakers felt that an X-rating meant it was pornographic, even if it wasn't.

Even today, NC-17 films are a death knell. Many theatre chains have banned them because they're money killers and unprofitable without a younger audience. Because of this, filmmakers have to be extremely careful if they want a steamy scene in their movies.

Oh, and guess who heads the MPAA? Chris Dodd, the "Democrat" who voted for the big bank bailout of 2008. Asshole.

Look, most young males know what a girl's vajayjay looks like. Yet, the MPAA is doing their damnedest to bar it from being projected on a giant screen unless it's in an art house. But in mainstream America, some guy's head can get blown off at a one-screen moviehouse in a small town. Some kid who's been bullied and teased will see it, find his parents' guns and open fire.

Thankfully, there's a chance we might get to see Spring Breakers unrated on Blu-Ray and DVD. Hell, maybe we might get to see if Vanessa Hudgens ever heard of a razor and/or if we'll see more of Ashley Benson.

But in the meantime, parents, hide your guns.

I have a sad feeling that these jerks will never get the message.

It seems that the Phelps clan and the Westboro Baptist Church is against everything. They've attacked military funerals, funerals for small children and so on. On Monday, they were present at the funeral for legendary film critic Roger Ebert.

Yes, even Ebert wasn't exempt from the infamous "God Hates Fags" people.

What's even worse is that even though WBC is considered as a hate group, plus the fact that most real Baptist churches won't defend their mantra, the Bush-appointed Supreme Court ruled that yes, the WBC has the right to protest funerals at their wish since it's protected by the First Amendment. My question is, how do they get the money to go around the country and promote their filth? After all, almost 100% of the WBC are made up of Phelpses.

Oh, and I love it that there's now a huge rumor that the family patriarch, Fred Phelps might be gay. Makes sense since he's so obsessed with homosexuality.

Point is, Chaz Ebert said it best during her husband's funeral Monday, that Roger - although a critic - never judged people on anything, whether it was race, creed, religion or anything. He was one of the nicest people ever, period. It's sad that these losers had to picket his funeral just because he probably gave the thumbs up to several LGBT-related films.

Here's an idea: if the WBC hates America so much, how about moving to a country that's anti-gay, like, oh, North Korea? Great place for 'em.

4.9.13 Bee-otch of the Day: Northern Star Broadcasting

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: Northern Star Broadcasting
Age: 15
Occupation: owner of several radio stations
Last Seen: Traverse City, MI
Bee-otched For: fucking over rock fans in northern Michigan
---

If you love rock and live in northern Michigan, all I can say is that my deepest sympathies are with you.

Two weeks ago, sweeping changes started to occur at Real Rock 105/95-5 (WGFM 105.1 Cheboygan and WJZJ 95.5 Glen Arbor/Traverse City) when the popular Free Beer and Hot Wings show suddenly disappeared. According to station staff, a satellite issue occurred and it would have taken days to fix. Then again, the station had been planning to cancel the show as-is, claiming low ratings and revenue. Listeners took to the station's Facebook page and complained while staffers Cartman and Smitty basically said the same things.

Well, April Fool's Day came, and the joke was on the listeners. Real Rock 105 and 95-5 was blown up, but the rock format was retained on 105.1 and renamed simply Rock 105. In FB&HW's place was Cartman while his midday slot was replaced with Tim Logan, who also does afternoons on sister classic rock station The Bear. Smitty retains his afternoon show while he now handles middays on The Bear.
So far, response to the changes has been mixed. The good news is that Rock 105 is the only rock station in northern Michigan that doesn't dwell on overplayed rock from the 1970's and has a decent selection of rock from the 1990's onward. The bad news? Lots of 'em.

For one, 95.5 is no longer simulcasting with 105.1. Instead, they're now WQEZ Easy 95.5/97.7, playing soft adult contemporary titles from artists like Celene Dion, Michael Buble, Whitney Houston and Elton John. This ends 15 years of 95.5 playing some sort of rock or alternative format; bear in mind that prior to their 1998 flip to The Zone, 95.5 was part of the Coast FM family of stations playing smooth jazz. From a financial standpoint, business was good, but when Del Reynolds sold his stations to Calibre Communications and later Northern Star, the station switched to The Zone based on their mediocre ratings.

WQEZ simulcasts with what is now WJZJ 97.7 in Cheboygan.

The Zone was originally on 95.5, WLJZ 94.5 Mackinaw City (now WOEZ and simulcasting The Bear) and WAVC 93.9 Mio, which eventually became a simulcaster to Big Country 102.9 and then The Bear. Both 93.9 and 94.5 dropped The Zone due to poor ratings, leaving 95.5 on their own. After 11 years, The Zone was dropped in 2009 and Real Rock 105/95-5 was born.

In the beginning, Real Rock did quite well, but thanks to mediocre programming decisions and management decisions, ratings did fizzle, although they were at a combined standpoint, Northern Star's best-performing format with a 3.8 Arbitron rating last quarter. Big Country had a 3.0 while The Bear had a combined 2.3.

However, during the holidays, Real Rock started playing more 70's rock from bands such as Styx, Boston and Journey. Thankfully, those bands were gone a few months later. However, currents were missing from the station's playlist, creating more speculation that Real Rock was toast.

April Fools Day came, and the switches were made. 95.5 went AC and 105.1 went 90's and above rock. Sadly, however, 1) Rock 105 is still not playing currents and 2) the station is playing a lot of crap that most rock stations have long avoided, like the Dave Matthews Band and Counting Crows. What's next? Hootie?

Even worse, 105.1's signal in Traverse City is pitiful. It starts to fizzle out once you get south of Elk Rapids or so. Even worser, Rival station WKLT has a combined 150,000 watts comparing to Rock 105's 50,000. Personally, I think KLT is laughing at NSB's decision to drop Rock 105 to only one signal, and listeners from Traverse City southward are fuming big-time.

Thankfully, Traverse City rock fans still have WOUF 99.3 The Wolf, but to say that station could be an alternative to Rock 105 is an oxymoron in itself. The station has virtually no promotion, their website and Facebook page is nearly non-existent and their webstream has been down for over a year. If I were Roy Henderson, I would give that station some much-needed promotion so at least those disenfranchised by Real Rock's departure could have a station all their own.

But, sadly, that's how radio is. They get rid of something good in exchange for crap. Instead of a current-based rock format, you get a station that hasn't played anything new in months. Instead of a popular morning show with ratings, you get a fat bastard who belongs on a top 40 station and not one that plays rock.

But, here's the $64 Million Question: will Rock 105 last?

Remember, NSB is trying to sell itself back to Del Reynolds. In order to do so, they're trying to spin off 94.5 and 93.9 to the teabaggers that own WYPV 106.3 in Onaway for 106.3. The sale of 94.5 has been approved, but not 93.9, and that station is now silent for the time being.

Only time will tell what will happen, but one thing's for sure: thank God I have Sirius.

4.8.13 Hero of the Day: Roger Ebert

A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Roger Ebert
Age: was 70
Occupation: film critic, writer
Last Seen: dancing with the angels
Awarded For: being quite possibly, the greatest film critic in movie history
---

The balcony has been closed, and the aisle seat has been filled.

For 46 years, Roger Ebert was purely America's film critic. The portly, thick-glasses-wearing sidekick to Gene Siskel or Richard Roeper (depending on the era) helped shape the way we saw and felt the movies. The son of an electrician in Urbana, Il, Ebert got into writing in high school doing sports reports for the local newspaper. However, he was a science fiction nerd, writing to several magazines during that period. Roger's love of film reviewing came from reading MAD Magazine and their infamous parodies of popular movies. It helped Ebert look at the bad of even the best movies ever made.

Ebert's professional film reviewing career started in 1967 at the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. His reviews became popular with the locals, but on a national scale, it wasn't the first time people ever heard of him. Ebert wrote the screenplay to the 1970 Russ Meyer film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, which to the joy of all the filmmakers who he had lambasted over the years, was a box office dud filled with sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, plus big boobies. Ebert also wrote the scripts to other Meyer productions, such as Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens and Up!, plus Who Killed Bambi?, the unmade film that was to star the 1970's punk band The Sex Pistols. Needless to say, Ebert's movies would end up becoming cult classics, mainly for their kitschiness.

Despite his softcore scripts, Ebert was regarded as a fine film reviewer, and in 1975, won a Pulitzer prize for his criticisms. But, the Pulitzer was just the beginning.

It was in 1975 that local PBS-TV station WTTW channel 11 hired Ebert and rival critic Gene Siskel to do a monthly TV show called Opening Soon to a Theatre Near You. The show was an instant hit, and eventually, it became a weekly show called Sneak Previews. The program was syndicated to PBS stations across the country and made Siskel and Ebert stars. However, the two left PBS in 1982 and crossed over to mainstream television with At the Movies. In 1985, the show moved to Disney and was simply renamed Siskel and Ebert.

Siskel and Ebert were America's favorite odd couple for movies. Sometimes, the two went into near Jerry Springer-style arguments over movies regarding how good they were, or weren't. But, as usual, movies got two thumbs up, two thumbs down, or one thumb up and one thumb down.

Sadly, Siskel developed a brain tumor, and passed away in 1999. Ultimately, Ebert found his replacement, fellow Sun-Times critic Richard Roeper. Despite working at the same paper, the two did enter themselves into being loggerheads at times on the show. But, despite the continued popularity of the show, Roger himself found out that he had cancer.

In 2002, Roger discovered that he had thyroid cancer and went under successful surgery. However, it spread to his salivary glands as well. Four years later, more cancerous tissue was found near the jaw, and doctors were forced to remove it, causing Ebert to be unable to talk or eat. But, that didn't stop him from posting his reviews.

Ebert moved into a new direction, being more friendly towards social media. He even returned to PBS in 2011 with Ebert Presents At the Movies as a producer. The show starred Christy Lemiere, a late-30-something film critic for the Associated Press and 20-something Russian blogger Ignatiy Vishnevetsky giving films the Ebert-trademarked thumbs-up reviews. Ebert himself did reviews on the show; he would write them and somebody else - usually Chicago TV legend Bill Kurtis - would read them on the air. Sadly, the show was canceled after just one year on the air due to a lack of funding.

Earlier this year, Roger announced that his cancer had resurfaced and would be out for several weeks due to treatment. Fellow reviewers, such as Richard Roeper reviewed movies with Ebert still occasionally popping in to do a few himself. Sadly, Roger Ebert died last Thursday at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Chaz. They had no children. Ebert waited until he was 50 to marry her - an African-American - to not disappoint his late mother. Ebert also dated Oprah Winfrey in the 1980's.

The cool thing about Roger Ebert was that he wasn't all about movies, he was about life, and we all learned from his personal experiences. When Ryan Dunn of Jackass died in a one-person drunk driving accident in 2011, Roger tweeted the article with the statement "friends don't let jackasses drive drunk". Fellow Jackass member Bam Margera responded angrily to the post, tweeting that Ebert was a "fat fuck" and that "millions of people are crying right now". Ebert defended his post by stating that he was an alcoholic for years and quit drinking in 1979 thanks to the help of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Ebert was a long-time Democrat and a secular humanist who gave out positive reviews to Dogma and The Passion of the Christ, two films that didn't quite see eye-to-eye regarding religion. He was also close pals with filmmaker Michael Moore; when he won the Best Documentary Oscar for Bowling For Columbine in 2003, it was Ebert who told Moore to present a politically-charged speech directed at president Bush's war policies. Despite a few boos from the crowd, It would help cement Moore as a voice against the Iraq War and a champion for the middle class.

Moore paid tribute to Ebert Thursday night by putting up "THANK YOU ROBERT EBERT A MILLION THUMBS UP" on the marquee at his State Theatre in Traverse City, MI.

When news of Roger's death came out, one person tweeted that God had to fire somebody because he took Roger Ebert and not rival film critic Michael Medved instead. Bear in mind that Medved - a conservative pundit - was one of Ebert's replacements on Sneak Previews when he and Siskel went to commercial TV.

Roger Ebert wasn't just a man who gave out film reviews, he gave out reviews on life. If something was good, it was thumbs up. Not so good? Vice versa. In a world like this, we needed him, and needed him now. True, Richard Roeper's still with us, and there's sites like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB that measure everybody's opinions, but they were no match to what Ebert had to say. Roger helped change Hollywood - and the world - for the better, and his passing will leave a void on life in general. There will be nobody like him ever again.

See ya, Roger. Maybe you'll now get to see and review The Way of All Flesh, all ten hours of GreedThe Rogue Song and just about any other film we'll never get to see.

3.28.13 Hero of the Day: Pete Misiak

HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Pete Misiak
Age: was 57
Occupation: broadcaster
Last Seen: Detroit, MI
Awarded For: being a great voice of the Great Lakes

---

One of WJR Detroit's great voices has fallen silent forever.

Earlier in the week, fans of the legendary Detroit AM station were shocked when one of its newsmen, Pete Misiak, died suddenly due to a sudden illness. He was 57. Misiak had been at WJR for many years doing the station's hourly news updates while putting his focus also on his video production company.

But to those who lived in northern Michigan in the 80's and 90's like myself, he was one of the finest broadcasters on the air.

A native of Detroit, Misiak moved to Traverse City as a teen. After high school, he was a member of Fred Waring's Young Pennsylvanians. In the mid-80's, Misiak joined WPBN-TV 7&4, the market's NBC affiliate. He moved to radio in the 1990's as the newsman and sidekick to whoever was the morning man at WKLT. After being let go from KLT in the late 90's, he jumped over to WFQX Fox 33 as that station's lead news anchor and personality. Shortly thereafter, Misiak moved back to Detroit where he did hourly news updates at WJR.

At one point in my life, I knew Pete personally. In 1988, my mother and I went to his church and since I had an interest in broadcasting as a little boy, he invited my mom and I to 7&4 to watch their 6 p.m. newscast in person. The anchors were nice enough to take pictures with me, and one of the end results was the picture you see above. Yes, that little boy in the picture was me, age seven, with Pete to my left and the late, great Dave Walker above us two. They were two of the finest broadcasters in television, and they were taken from us too soon (Walker died a few years ago after a long battle with cancer).

I met Pete again a few years later when I was doing a school project where I had to shadow somebody doing their job. For me, it was being a DJ. I was able to sit in with Tim Murphy at WKLT where Pete was his sidekick and newsman. Pete and I had a nice chat, and it was also the day I learned that he was wearing a toupee all that time. Sadly, it was KLT that made my wishes of being a jock disappeared because of Murph's dismissal all because he trashed a sponsor, Arby's on the air while they were buying a small amount of ads at the same time. He was replaced with Jim Ellis, who was another jock who worked in a ton of big markets only to land in Traverse City because of hard times. I was told that Pete hated Jim because of his idiotic sense of humor and missed Tim. I couldn't agree more. I remember Jim trashing Howard Stern in a newspaper article, and yet he did something Ellis could never do: climb up the ladder in the broadcasting biz. As a matter of fact, Ellis worked at KLT twice before a heart attack killed him several years ago.

But yet, Pete climbed that ladder quite well. Even though I heard that he only did weekend updates at WJR at the end of his life (he was their nighttime anchor for a few years), at least he had his video business to fall back on. It's a shame that one of the nicest men in broadcasting had to leave us way too soon while there's a lot of jerks in the business these days.

Also, SHAME on the northern Michigan news media for not making Pete's death news. I think a lot of people up north would be shocked if they heard about his passing. Hell, I was the guy who posted on 7&4's Facebook page about Pete's passing and the station did say that they were thinking about his family. Good for them, but nothing on their website. Sad. Oh, well.

When I was in Kentucky last Thanksgiving, I was fortunate enough to snatch the photo album were the above picture was taken. I was looking at old albums with my Dad and decided that I needed to post some of the 7&4 pics online. When Pete's death was announced, I quickly remembered the one with me, Pete and Dave Walker. Man, it's amazing that I'm the only one still alive in that picture.

Grim Reaper, don't get any good ideas.

My thoughts are with Pete's family, friends and those who knew him personally. He'll always have a place in my heart and if I ever had a reason to get into broadcasting, he'd be one of the reasons. He'll definitely be missed.

You get what you pay for, folks.

I pay for Howard Stern and commercial-free music channels, not for Martha Stewart, Opie and Anthony, Jamie Foxx or even Dr. Laura.

And I definitely don't pay for Glenn Beck.

But sadly, now I am.

The satcaster added Glenn Beck's "TheBlaze" radio channel on Monday to their internet subscribers only and not their satellite service (FYI, I have Sirius internet only; I canceled my satellite subscription two years ago). The channel airs Beck's show, alongside a few no-namers. The Blaze also airs on Beck's website and on Clear Channel's iHeartRadio app.

For a while, I thought that Beck's star was fading, especially after his idiotic comments on Obama being a racist. Fox News Channel canned his show and Beck started using TheBlaze's video feed for his TV show. Hell, several radio stations - including WOR New York, which is now owned by Beck's syndicator Clear Channel - got rid of his show. But since he still has a wide audience and is part of CC's trifecta of doom that also features Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, he still has huge ratings.

However, I think there's a slightly good side to the dogstar wanting to carry Beck's network: what if Howard Stern were to leave the company? After all, it seems that he wants to work in TV full-time, plus the fact that there's that rumor that he might be taking over The Tonight Show once Jay Leno's contract is up. Personally, it would make a lot of sense for them to get Beck and maybe work on getting an exclusive contract to get Rush and maybe Hannity as well, but it would also alienate people like me who pay $15 per month for the service itself.

But, that's the thing: Sirius is working too hard to bring a diverse audience to its service, and it's not working. Say, aren't they supposed to have several channels devoted to minority-based programming as part of their deal with the FCC? Whatever happened to that? Instead, it's good 'ol Glenn Beck off his meds again.

Good thing I also have Slacker on my cell phone if all else fails.
