BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------
A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Dolores O'Riordan
Age: was 46
Occupation: lead singer of The Cranberries
Last Seen: singing with the angels
Awarded For: helping to write and sing the soundtrack of the 90s

---
The 1990s sure are over.

In only the past few years, we've lost Scott Weiland, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell and Tom Petty, just to name a few.

Now, we can add Dolores O'Riordan to the list.

In 1990, a young woman joined a small, unknown Irish band called The Cranberry Saw Us. The band had lost their male lead singer, so they decided on a female. Well, it turned out to be a good move on their part.

Shortly after Delores joined the group, comprising of brothers Noel and Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler, The band was renamed The Cranberries and were signed to Island Records. Their first album, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" sold over five million copies in America alone and its first single, "Linger" became a gen-x love anthem. Soon, the band scored many other big hits, from the poppy ("Dreams" and "Free To Decide") to the hard-rocking "Zombie", a song inspired by two young boys that were killed during the IRA bombings in 1993 in England. Their songs were mostly written by Dolores and were standards on both pop and rock stations in the 1990s.

By the beginning of the 2000s, The Cranberries became more of an afterthought and in 2003, broke up. Dolores recorded two solo albums, but in 2009, the band reformed. The band recorded one studio album, "Roses" in 2012 and "Something Else" just last year, which contained re-worked acoustic covers of their classics with a live orchestra.

In recent years, Dolores had been dealing with bipolar disorder and was arrested for air rage in 2014. In 2013, Dolores tried to commit suicide after suffering a breakdown. She had been abused as a child and was also going through a divorce from her husband of 20 years. She had been dealing with health issues in the past few years that have caused the band to cancel dates. This morning, her body was found in a London hotel room. She was only 46. So far, they are calling her death mysterious.

The untimely death of Dolores O'Riordan has shocked the world. Growing up with her music, I'm saddened by her too-soon passing. My thoughts are with her family, especially her three children. If her death was drug-related, I hope and pray we can all learn from it and move on in a positive manner. Mental illness is something that must be addressed and worked on.

Thankfully, the music will live on forever.

1.11.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Cumulus Media

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Cumulus Media
Age: 21
Occupation: media giant
Last Seen: Las Vegas, NV
Bee-otched For: having a Huge problem

---
Yesterday, the Fall 2017 Nielsen radio ratings book was released and there were a few surprises here and there.

B93 retained the lead, followed by WOOD-AM/FM, WSNX (I guess people love Mojo after all), Star 105.7 (gotta love the Christmas boost) and WGRD, whose ratings went up despite the addition of butt rock into their playlist.

However, there's no surprise that dead last in the latest ratings among FM stations is good 'ol WBBL 107.3, which finished with a 1.7 in 15th place. Of course, this station is the home of good 'ol "Huge" Bill Simonson, who has been on this station for years. Yet, the asshole homer has no real listeners except for the Devos family and Tommy Brann.

What might be more laughable is the fact that WBBL isn't the lowest-rated radio station in west Michigan. Their sister station, WJRW 1340 is at a .5 in the ratings. Even more, Holland's WHTC 1450 has a .8, good for a .8.

What might be more ironic is that guess who WHTC also carries? Yep, the fat one.

The funny thing is that WBBL and WJRW's parent, Cumulus Media is going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy and their stock price is at six fucking cents per share. They also own WLAV, 105.3 Hot FM and 94.5 Nash FM here in GR. When The Cloud bought their GR stations from Citadel, I was hoping for good positive change. Instead, it's almost the same 'ol, same 'ol.

Folks, there's a reason why Cumulus is in bankruptcy: THEY HAVEN'T LEARNED FROM CITADEL'S MISTAKES. Here in Grand Rapids, they fucked up and killed WKLQ, they blew up a popular oldies station and created a country station that has failed to dethrone B93 and they moved WBBL to an FM signal while the talk station that replaced it on the AM band has been a colossal failure.

For Cumulus, the question is, now what? Why is Hot FM still WSNX's bitch? Why has Nash FM been a bomb in GR? Why is the useless Bill Simonson still on the air, probably proclaiming that the Lions will win the Super Bowl this year? This is why Cumulus is in the poor house.

All I'll say is that when Rome burns, I'll be listening to Pandora.

1.10.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Vermilion Parish School District

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Vermilion Parish School District
Age: ??
Occupation: school system
Last Seen: Abbeville, LA
Bee-otched For: having the worst superintendant in America

---
And you thought that Seymour Skinner had a nasty boss in Super Nintendo Chalmers.

On Sunday, a school board meeting was held in Abbeville, LA, pop. 12,000. Teacher Deyshia Hargrave stood up to voice her disgust regarding superintendant Jerome Puyau receiving a $38,000 pay raise despite most teachers in the Vermilion Parish school district not getting a raise in ten years, plus the fact that class sizes in the district had grown from 21 to 29 per class.

Puyau had been making $110,000 per year since 2012. Originally, the school board was deadlocked 4-4 in renewing his contract, but one of the board members died and was replaced with somebody who was in favor of renewing his contract.

While voicing her disgust, a police officer asked her to leave the building. She did, but as she was being escorted, the cop pushed her to the ground and slapped handcuffs on her. Needless to say, the community - and now the world - is pulling for Hargrave, who was the district's Teacher of the Year in 2016.

You know, it's sad when I see people get rewarded for failure. If class sizes in this district kept growing, they should do something, like remodel schools or build new ones. Personally, if my kid went to this district, I would be finding a new one for it. I want my kid's teachers to be well-paid and if the goddamned superintendant is overpaid, the district needs to kick him out.

Thankfully, Hargrave won't face any charges, but now, people are angry over what's going on in Vermilion Parish and they need to be. This echoes what's going on in inner city schools that are condemned and no kid should be taught in. Yet, many of those schools' staff are overpaid and need to be replaced.

Maybe for redemption, Ms. Hargrave oughta tar and feather Mr. Puyau.

1.9.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Joe Arpaio

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Joe Arpaio
Age: 85
Occupation: former sheriff
Last Seen: Phoenix, AZ
Bee-otched For: making another offense

---
Six months ago, Joe Arpaio was about ready to go to jail.

The former Maricopa County, AZ sheriff was charged for ignoring a judge's orders to stop having his cops pull over Hispanics six months ago. However, the big orange Cheeto decided to pardon him since he's trying to get the massive border wall built.

Now, Sheriff Joe is trying to get himself another new job: senator.

Today, he announced that he's entering the senate race in Arizona to replace outgoing senator Doug Flake. Obviously, Joe is going after the Drumpf crowd in a state where his approval rating at 45% is higher than the national average of 38%.

Yes, this is the same Joe Arpaio who made his prisoners wear pink outfits, work in chain gangs in 120-degree heat and forced them to watch G-rated movies. This is also the douchebag who also tried to throw former President Obama in prison because of the outrageous claims that he was born in Kenya.

The sad truth is that Arpaio is a very dangerous and weird man. The fact that Drumpf is one of his cheerleaders is flat-out disgusting and if he becomes a senator, God help us all. Think about it: he'll be 86 when and if he's elected senator. If that's reality, hopefully he'll die in the middle of taking the oath of office.

Only in America, where only crazy people, it seems want to run politics.

1.8.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Trump

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Donald Trump
Age: 71
Occupation: combover guy
Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: well, being Donald Trump

---
Of course, Drumpf made himself 2017 Bee-otch of the Year. Now, let's see if he can repeat!

And he's off to a good start!

Last weekend, Drumpf was in a furor over a new book slamming him called "Fire and Fury" by Michael Wolff. In the book, it reveals that Drumpf's staff were all talking about the 25th Amendment since he might be battling dementia. The de facto president had been dealing with odd skipping of topics and slurring of speech. Since then, the White House did send a cease and desist to the book's publishers, but that didn't stop it from being released.

And then comes the fact that Robert Mueller may order Drumpf for an interview regarding Russia's interference with the 2016 election. That's right! Drumpf might have to speak under oath. Of course, Drumpf's lawyers will work their ass off to work perimeters in hopes that he won't have to reveal too much. So, who knows?

However, Drumpf MIGHT have a huge battle in 2020 if Oprah Winfrey, Negro Woman From the South chooses to run, especially after her barnburner of a speech last night's Golden Globes. True, O might win easily against Drumpf, but the question is, will she be a true progressive like Bernie or a fauxgressive like Hillary? Since Oprah can be a corporate asskisser, I'm a little scared. Plus, I think no white male would ever vote for her. Hell, look at her TV offerings; most of Harpo's programs are for old yentas with stinky vaginas. What frightens me is that Oprah might be pulling the Hillary card and will make the same fucking mistakes she made that cost her the election in 2016. If she does so, I won't be voting for her and go independent in 2020. Hell, just seeing the preview for that god-awful "Precious" a few years ago movie would avoid me from voting for her in the first place!

I know, Oprah's the lesser of the two evils, but the thing is, the Dems need to have a real progressive candidate to kick Drumpf's ass. Yes, his actions are enough to get him kicked out of the White House, but if the Dems don't learn from 2016, we'll have four more years of this prick and what happened in 2008 will be NOTHING compared to what will happen.

Prepare for a very interesting year.
