Name: The Republican Party
Age: 160
Occupation: asskissers to the rich
Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: leaving the middle class in the dust

---
The GOP has done it again.

On Wednesday, the senate voted on a bill that would increase the minimum wage from the current $7.25 per hour to $10.10 in a span of 30 months. The bill did get the majority of the vote, 54-46, but it needed 60 votes to pass.

The typical Republican response: "oh, this bill's gonna kill small business!"

Yeah, small businesses like Walmart and McDonald's.

Time for a history lesson: 50 years ago, the nation's largest employer was GM. Adjusted for inflation, their workers were making $50 per hour. Multiply that by 40 hours, that's $2,000 per week. A man who worked for GM's wife didn't have to work, they could save for their kids' college education and they could get a new car every two years. Now, the nation's largest employer is Walmart, whose average worker makes less than $8 per hour and doesn't work over 38 1/2 hours to prevent Wally World from paying overtime.

For years, Walmart has claimed that they can't give their workers raises, but the problem is the fact that the Walton family are all billionaires and one of them, Alice spent a billion bucks building an art museum in their hometown of Bentonville, AR. If you spend a billion on a fucking art museum and your workers are being forced to buy their groceries on food stamps, there's a problem.

But hey! That's the Republican way, especially since the days of Reagan! During his tenure as president, the minimum wage didn't go up ONCE. But it did only a few times under the presidents that proceeded him. If the minimum wage went up to $10.10, adjusted for inflation, those making the minimum would be making the same wage as somebody back in 1968! To anybody who busts their ass on a daily basis, that's technically an insult.

But that's what happens when we don't fight and don't stick to our guns. When Obama was elected president in 2008, things were looking up. But then, the Tea Party and the Koch Brothers started smearing the president over everything from the lies about him being born in Kenya to him being a Muslim. So, we re-elected the same assholes who threw us down the well in 2008 with the economic breakdown that crippled America. Now, instead of creating jobs and boosting the minimum wage, congress and the senate has turned into a broken record of wanting to kill the ACA while job creation since they took over has slowed down to a trickle.

Folks, last week, I saw not one, but TWO beggars at the same street corner here in Grand Rapids. It's pathetic when we don't do enough to help those who have been unemployed for longer than the six-month allotment and jobs are scarce. Even for me, I get flustered that I've been working for the same company for almost 12 years but my paycheck is a joke. I have looked for other jobs, but there's nothing out there.

As the great Trent Reznor once proclaimed, "bow down before the one you serve, you're gonna get what you deserve". You wanted Reagan, you ended up with union-busting, tax cuts for the mega-wealthy and a killed stock market. You wanted Bush I and you got lied about taxes and jobs being scarce. However, you brought in Clinton and the deficit was erased but with Bush II, we ended up in three fake wars, lies about the worst disaster in American history and people and one of the worst economic breakdowns in history.

I want Obama to succeed, goddammit. But, he needs a Democratic government to achieve it. The Republicans are corrupt and will do anything for their sugardaddies, big business. I think that if you're stuck in that financial rut where you're not moving ahead in life, EVERYBODY needs to vote straight-ticket Democrat in this mid-term election. It's time we moved forward instead of letting Charlie and David move us back.

The GOP: fucking us over since 1981.

FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW...

Name: Donald Sterling
Age: 81
Occupation: real estate magnate, lawyer and owner of the Los Angeles Clippers
Last Seen: Los Angeles, CA
Bee-otched For: getting the boot
---
It's official: the most-hated man in sports has been given the boot.

Yesterday afternoon, NBA commish Adam Silver made the announcement that Donald Sterling has been banned from the NBA for life. Sterling can no longer make business decisions, attend NBA games or participate in anything regarding his own team. NBA team owners will now decide if they want Sterling to bequeath his team or not.

Also yesterday afternoon, the Clippers posted simply three white words with a black background and an abbreviated version of the team's logo: WE ARE ONE.

Sterling was also fined $2.5 million for the racial outbursts that he made to girlfriend V. Stiviano that she recorded where Sterling criticized her for a picture of her standing next to NBA legend Magic Johnson and taking black people to Clipper games.

Without a doubt, Sterling is the most-controversial sports team owner since Marge Schott and her support for Adolph Hitler that caused her to lose managing control of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team from 1996 to 1998. Because of her unpopularity, she ended up selling the team in 1999. Racial slurs were a part of her vocabulary; often using terms such as "million-dollar n*ggers" to describe her baseball players.

Now that Sterling's no longer in control, time will only tell how the Clippers will do the rest of the playoffs or if the name "Clippers" is tarnished for good. Maybe now, Donald will use his time off from basketball to hang out with his precious sugar momma.

4.29.14 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Sterling

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: Donald Sterling
Age: 81
Occupation: real estate magnate, lawyer and owner of the Los Angeles Clippers
Last Seen: Los Angeles, CA
Bee-otched For: being a bigot
---
For 30 years, the Los Angeles Clippers were the Lakers' bitch.

While the Lakers were winning championships, the Clippers were "that other team" in L.A. The team originally played in Buffalo and then San Diego. They moved to L.A. in 1984 when three years prior, real estate magnate and lawyer Donald Sterling bought the team for $12.5 million.

The Clippers never won an NBA championship and never had a better record than the Lakers. But in recent years, their fortunes were turned around when the Lakers started to fizzle out and thanks to great players like Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, they became one of the NBA's top teams.

Now, it's the Clippers' turn for dominance as they're currently getting set for Game Five of the NBA Playoffs vs. the Golden State Warriors tonight at Los Angeles. But it will be a bittersweet homecoming for the Clippers since it's their first game since all hell broke loose last weekend when a recording of owner Donald Sterling arguing with his girlfriend surfaced on TMZ.com.

In the call, Sterling was angry that his 31-year-old girlfriend, Maria Vanessa Perez, aka Vivian Stiviano was pictured on her Instagram account with former Laker Magic Johnson. In the lengthy call, Sterling is angry at Stiviano for bringing blacks to the games, even though Stiviano is 1/2 black herself.

As we all know by now, Sterling is now pretty much the most-hated man in sports. Several fellow NBA owners such as Michael Jordan have admonished his statements, celebs have bashed him and even President Obama have commented on Sterling's rant. Even his estranged wife of nearly 60 years, Rochelle rebuked his comments.

Rumor has it that the reason why Stiviano recorded his comments was due to the fact that Sterling - who is 81 - might be coming down with either Alzheimer's or dementia. She claims that she's not the one who leaked the tape to TMZ, especially since she's embroiled in some legal battles with Sterling's wife right now. Rochelle claims that V. is a gold digger and dates wealthy older men like Sterling.

Nonetheless, the damage is done. On Sunday's game in Oakland, Clippers players removed their warm-up jerseys and turned them inside-out as a sign of protest. Now that the series is coming back to the Staples Center, people wonder if it's right to support a team whose owner is a racist who won't even apologize for his comments. As expected, the NBA is investigating Sterling and his consequences might be hurtful.

You see, the Clippers are a franchise, just like McDonald's, Burger King, Subway and so on. You can own a franchise, but you must adhere to their rules. Franchises have different rules and different payment agreements. My mother owned a computer repair franchise with her now-ex-husband several years ago in Arizona. They wanted a partner and found one who owned several shops of his own. However, he was caught cheating his employees and his shops himself by embezzling money. He'd report that the billing was low when it was much higher. He was caught and surprise, he was forced to sell off his stores... for only $1.

Just because you own a piece of Mickey D's doesn't make you king of the world by any degree. Hell, I know of two former Burger King locations right here in Grand Rapids. They failed probably because they didn't make enough money or the location just wasn't right.

In the case of Donald Tokowitz Sterling, there's a variety of things that are possible regarding the Clippers' future. One is for Sterling to give the team to Rochelle and another is for the NBA to force the team off his hands and make it an NBA O&O until a new owner emerges. IMHO, it might be possible that a future owner of the Clippers would want to move the team to Seattle, a town still infuriated after the Sonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008. It would be no huge loss to L.A. since they still have the Lakers, but is still wondering why an NFL franchise hasn't been interested in the city since the Raiders and Rams abandoned the city 20 years ago.

In the end, I think that Donald Sterling is a pure asshole for using blacks as a key for his success but ended up spitting on them just because when it's his team's turn to play the Staples Center, he wants 20,000 lily white folks to cram the stands to watch some black folks entertain. I agree that it's time for the old man to throw in the towel and have somebody with many degrees more tolerance to own the team.

At least the Lakers' owner, Jeanie Buss did Playboy about 20 years ago and yes, I have that issue in my (albeit small) collection. Jeanie-1, Donald-zip.

4.26.14 Bee-otch of the Day: Cliven Bundy

I guess it's time for me to put in my two cents on this issue.

For 20 years now, a cattle rancher from Nevada named Cliven Bundy has been fighting the US government over the fact that he's been using federal land to graze his cattle. Bundy claims that his family had been using that land for 140 years, but the feds had cut Bundy off due to the fact that the land has a rare species of turtle on there. Now, the government is seizing any of Bundy's cattle that enters their land

In recent weeks, many on the right such as Sean Hannity had defended Bundy for being anti-government and pro-business. But last week, their support dwindled when he made statements against blacks claiming that they're lazy and that they've never learned how to pick cotton. Now, Bundy is in bigger cow shit than ever.

Ranchers allowing their cattle to graze on public land is nothing new. Even King of the Hill tackled the topic in an episode when Peggy's family's farm is in danger of closing because of the fact that they could no longer graze their cows on land now owned by Henry "The Fonz" Winkler. The end result was that they found a new place to graze their cattle: the trendy business district.

Of course it's natural that Hannity and others withdrew their support of Bundy; his comments are extremely stupid and did nothing but make Mormons and conservatives look undesirable. Then again, they already are. I hope that the government takes all of his cattle away and that Bundy will be forced to retire.

Cliven and Donald Sterling should share a room.

4.24.13 Bee-otch of the Day: Terri Lynn Land

Name: Terri Lynn Land
Age: 55
Occupation: former Secretary of State of Michigan

The 2014 elections are heating up, especially here in Michigan.

One of the coveted seats is Carl Levin's senate seat, which he's held since 1979. Now that the 80-year-old Democrat is retiring, chances are that it will be a battle between former Republican Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land and Democratic congressman Gary Peters from the Detroit area. Already, the attack ads are all over Michigan television.

In her newest ad - seen above - Land is at a table asking why Peters claims that she's against women. For a few seconds, game show-style think music plays while she sips from a cup and looks at her watch. In the end of the 30-second ad, she proclaims, "I'm Terri Lynn Land, and I approve this message, because as a woman, I might know a little bit more about women than Gary Peters."

Really, Terri? Just because somebody has tits and a twat doesn't make them an expert on what it's like to be female. This broad supports eliminating the Affordable Care Act and deregulation that would only create low-paying and dangerous jobs for Michiganders. Women need both the ACA and good-paying jobs to get by. Hell, the ACA helps pay for things women need like mammograms and prevents them from losing their coverage over a pre-existing condition.

Remember those ads that featured that old lady from the Detroit area who claimed that the ACA caused her to lose her coverage, even though she found a better plan for less premiums? Remember who was responsible for them: Americans For Prosperity, or in other words, the Koch brothers. They want Ms. Land to win so they could keep running this state into the red, literally. It's also worth noting that like the Kochs, Land is Dutch and a member of the ultra-right-wing Christian Reformed Church.

IMHO, a woman who is a Republican is like a cow eating hamburger, or even worse, a black man wanting to join the KKK. The Repukes have been against women for years in terms of jobs and being independent. If Terri Lynn Land wins, she'll be nothing more than a female Uncle Tom to women.

But that's what we'll get from a woman who looks a little like John Denver.

4.23.14 Heroes of the Day: 97.1 The Ticket and Detroit Sports 105.1

TWO SPECIAL HEROES OF THE DAY!

Names: WXYT-FM, WMGC aka "97.1 The Ticket", "Detroit Sports 105.1"
Ages: 73, 54
Occupations: sports talk radio stations
Last Seen: Detroit, MI
Awarded For: creating a slam dunk of a deal
---

It's official: Detroit Sports 105.1 - despite currently being the Motor City's lowest-rated FM station - will have a future.

Plus, Red Wing fans will no longer have to have to sit through static to sit through the games.

Yesterday at 3 p.m., a blockbuster deal was made between the Detroit Pistons NBA team and 105.1. Effective immediately, 105.1 is now the flagship station of the Pistons, which had been on 97.1.

97.1 had carried all of Detroit's major sports teams - Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers and Lions - until the deal. However, if a Pistons game was on the same time as a Red Wing game, the Wings were forced onto 97.1's lowly sister station, WXYT 1270, a station with a lousy nighttime signal. Even worse, the Pistons are an also-ran in Detroit sports; they ended the 2013-14 season in 4th place in the Central Division. The only team worse than the Pistons in their division is the worst team in the NBA, the 15-67 Milwaukee Bucks.

Personally, this is good news for both stations since 97.1 will keep the winning Tigers and Red Wings while 105.1 will have whatever audience the Pistons have these days. Of course, the team will have yet another rebuilding year after coach Mo Cheeks was fired mid-season and fairly-new owner Tom Gores is still trying to teach himself how to run a successful sports franchise. The Pistons haven't had a winning season since 2008 when Flip Saunders coached the team. Around that time, long-time owner Bill Davidson died and his wife silently owned the team. Gores bought the Pistons in 2011 and has yet to turn around the team.

The constant pre-emptions of Red Wings for Pistons on 97.1 also hurt ratings. Normally, they're in first place. Now, they're in eighth place because of the Pistons lame playing plus the fact that the Red Wings barely made the NHL playoffs this year.

Now, with the Pistons gone, 97.1 can breathe easier. But, what about 105.1? I don't expect the Pistons to be in the W column next year, or anytime soon. It takes years to build a successful team, especially one that has seen better days. The only decent player I see on their roster is Chauncey Billups, who helped the team win their 2003 championship. Too bad his good days are behind him.

Also, once the Red Wings' new arena is finished in the next few years, the Pistons will be stuck with the oldest arena in Detroit, The Palace. Even worse, it's in Auburn Hills, a lily-white suburb of Detroit. I think if they're smart, the Pistons either A) convince the cash-strapped city of Detroit to build them a new arena to replace The Palace or B) share the new arena with the Red Wings. But, who knows? I honestly think that the Pistons are hell-bent on keeping The Palace, which was built in 1988 and is one of the last great hopes for Detroit's deteriorating northern suburbs, still stuck with the eyesore known as the Silverdome and the long-abandoned Big Buck Brewery (at least that Showcase Cinema bit the dust).

But all we know is this: all the Red Wings have to worry about now are their sister team, the Tigers.

4.22.14 Bee-otch of the Day: Dick Cheney

Name: Dick Cheney
Age: 73
Occupation: ex-veep
Last Seen: Grand Rapids, MI
Bee-otched For: coming to Grand Rapids

When I hear the words "Dick Cheney is coming to Grand Rapids", my head slams onto the table.

Sadly, the ex-vice president came to my hometown yesterday, speaking at the Ford Museum about his heart surgeries and how he was close to death at some points. Cheney was born with a bad heart and has had multiple heart attacks.

Funny, I didn't know the cocksucker even had a heart.

I love it how he wants people to feel bad about him since he technically ran the country for most of the 2000's. He told president BusHitler what to do, like invade this country and invade that country and so on. Thousands of US soldiers and innocent civilians died so Cheney and his billionaire buddies could profit from others' blood.

But let's face it: this is Grand Rapids. The Devoses are in bed with Cheney and Bush and all the rest and that's why they come here more than Obama and most Democrats. Even worse, the media here seems to join in the asskissing. When Sarah Palin came to town several months ago to pimp her new book, the media was on her failed ass. Yet, Neil DeGrasse Tyson - the astrophysicist whose Sunday night TV show Cosmos is one of Fox's highest-rated - didn't get much attention when he came to town the same day.

You see, this is why I hate Grand Rapids: too many right-winged assholes come to town only because of the fucking Hollanders who live here. Even more, I'm happy that people here hate it when a Repuke comes to down. Just read the comments on WOOD-TV's website.

Personally, I won't shed a tear if Cheney dies. This scrooge is wanted in other countries for war crimes and so is Bush. I hope as God as my witness that we never have another Republican as president as long as I live. It's time to move on and having Cheney come to town to talk about his heart - or lack there of - won't help.

Maybe he'll accidentally shoot himself for once while duck hunting.
