5.24.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Trump

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: taking a knee to America

Well, it's official: if you're a football player and don't stand for an old drinking song that talks about slavery before your game, you will be fined.

The National Football League and commissioner Roger Goodell announced the new policy Wednesday in response to football players who either sit or take a knee during the National Anthem. The trend started with former San Francisco 49er Colin Kaepernick, who started sitting and kneeling in response to the police brutality against African Americans. Other NFL players followed Kaepernick as a result.

The protests have indeed angered some of the NFL's most-conservative fans and it has had an effect on ratings, in which they were down 10% last year than the year before.

At least one person's happy with the new NFL rules: Drumpf.

During Thursday's Fox and Friends, the de facto president told the assholes who host the show that he's happy that the NFL made the decision. He also said that those who don't stand for the anthem "shouldn't be in the country".

When I was a kid, there was a girl I went to school with who was a Jehovah's Witness. When we stood for the Pledge of Allegiance, she didn't stand. So, if there are NFL players who are JWs, does that mean they need to stand, too?

Of course, there's a reason why Drumpf is a friend of the NFL's, and it's due to the fact that he's friends with Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots. I remembered watching him in the skybox at a game and the wind was ROYALLY fucking up his hair!

There is some good news in all this: one NFL owner, Chris Johnson of the New York Jets announced that if any of his players get fined, he will personally pay their fees. (Johnson, BTW is an heir to the Johnson and Johnson family, so he has some cash.)

While Drumpf is trashing football players, he has decided not to go to the North Korea summit. Figures. The dude probably wants to drop missiles on that nation and even go to war. But what else is new?

Remember, this is Drumpf we're talking about.

5.23.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Leslie Love

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Occupation: state representative
Last Seen: Detroit, MI
Bee-otched For: showing no love for the adult entertainment industry

Great. What this country needs is another fucking politician who makes going to the strip club even tougher.

Detroit's Leslie Love (D) has introduced a bill that would force all strip club employees - dancers, management, etc. - to be licensed. She believes that such establishments need to be run more professionally.

She told the Detroit Free Press, "People have been dancing since before Jesus. Why does it have to operate in the dark?"

If Love's bill passes, strip clubs would force all dancers to be 21 and over, force employees to guidelines and fees and have all clubs meet design guidelines. Posters would also be posted in locker rooms to prevent sex trafficking.

You know, I have a friend who worked in the strip club business for many, many years and he thinks that Love's bill is pure bullshit, and I agree. The sad truth is that it's tougher to own a strip club in Michigan than it is to own a gun shop. Fuck, here in Grand Rapids, nude dancing is banned outright! It's easier to buy a gun than it is to have some smokin' hot chick show you her lady bits in this city.

Folks, even been to a strip club and notice that the performers use stage names? Well, there's a reason for that. It's because the last thing a stripper needs is some douchebag stalking her. I used to go to strip clubs regularly and I NEVER knew the real name of any of the girls or even followed them home. Sorry, but I'm an adult. Love's idiotic bill will make things dangerous for performers. Plus, there's many dancers 18-21 who need the money. Love's bill would force them to work crappy jobs to get through college. I think it's safer to show a bunch of horny men your boobs than to get splattered with fry oil.

Some politicians just Can't Understand Normal Thinking. Leslie Love is one of them.

5.22.18 Bee-otches of the Day: NRA

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: National Rifle Association
Age: 147
Occupation: gun nuts
Last Seen: Fairfax, VA
Bee-otched For: another unneeded tragedy

Another week, another school shooting.

Last Friday, a troubled 17-year-old boy opened fire at his classmates at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, TX, pop. 12,000. Ten people - nine students and a teacher - were shot to death by this teen, who was obsessed with guns. The boy's father was a hardcore fan of Fox News Channel and sympathized with Dana Loesch, the controversial talk radio host and NRA advocate.

Sadly, the story was almost quickly broomed under the rug by the media because it's more important to them that some American woman married a prince. Like many, I chose to sleep during the big wedding, and guess what? The sun came up at 6:12 a.m. and set at 9:06 p.m. Sadly, I was awaken by birds chirping, but that's life. Thankfully, NBC Nightly News profiled some of the families affected by the gunman.

Like many high schools, Santa Fe High participated in the #NotOneMore movement a few weeks ago, influenced by another horrific mass shooting at Parkland High in Florida. School shootings seem to go in a cycle: the shooting happens, the people react and then it simmers down. Then, another shooting happens and so on. All the NRA cares about is that the controversy surrounding the shooting will die down so they can once again be the good guys. Hell, they love it when a school has a cop inside because as Wayne LaPierre once said, "it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun". OK, so did Santa Fe High have a cop inside? How about schools in smaller towns in the US?

The sad truth is that we have a de facto president that cares more about the NRA than protecting our children. Hell, NBC Nightly News tonight showed Drumpf at an NRA rally during a news story about his troubled meeting with Kim Jong Un. Of course, the NRA would rather simply turn our schools into prisons where teachers are taught to shoot people, kids have to enter through a metal detector and a police officer is present at all times. Of course, banning assault weapons seems to be a more sensible solution. After all, it works in other nations, so why not us? Simple: it's the same reason why we're one of the last nations on Earth that doesn't have free healthcare or free college for all.

Thanks to the NRA, we can't have nice things.

5.21.18 Hero of the Day: my grandmother

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------
A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: my grandmother
Age: was 89
Occupation: former special ed teacher
Last Seen: in the Great Beyond, dancing with my grandfather
Awarded For: being the best grandmother anybody could ever have

---

On Friday at exactly noon, one of the greatest women who ever lived on this Earth left us.

This was a woman who overcame so much in life to become a great educator and most importantly, a better wife, mother and grandmother.

To me, she was simply Grandma.

My Grandma was born in Howard City, MI just before the start of the Great Depression. She was the third of four kids with a brother ten years older than her, a sister five years older than her and another sister five years younger than her. Her mother was a music teacher while her father was the town mailman.

When Grandma was young, she contracted polio. For the rest of her life, she had difficulty walking, but it didn't stop her. While attending Eastern Michigan University, her roommate introduced her to her brother, a strapping young man whom she ended up marrying.

That man, obviously, was my grandfather. The two were married for 49 years until his death from cancer in 2001.

Together, my grandparents had seven children, with my father being the first. Like my great-grandparents, my paternal grandparents had almost the same occupations. My grandfather was a mailman and Grandma was a schoolteacher like her mom, though she taught special ed. They all lived in a three-story ranch-style home in Troy, just outside Detroit where they raised dogs, cats and even a horse.

In the mid-80s, my grandparents retired and my father coaxed them into moving to northern Michigan. They moved into another three-story home that looked like it was from the 70s, complete with orange countertops and shag carpeting. It was a beautiful house with a nice, spacious living room, a steel spiral staircase that led to the upper floor and a downstairs game room with a pool table. All my family from downstate would come up to visit and while Grandpa golfed, my Grandma took me to the swimming pool at Grand Traverse Resort in her awesome Buick Skylark. I also remember all the shopping trips to Tom's Food Market in Acme, her favorite place to shop. I would remember all of their brothers and sisters visiting them as well. Ah, the memories of my Grandma and my great-aunt in the front seat listening to an old Teresa Brewer tape, singing "Music! Music! Music!" Gag.

It was tragic when they announced in 1998 that they were moving to Florida. My Grandpa battled dizzy spells for years, and when they vacationed down there, they disappeared. Around that time, I got my WebTV so we were able to email each other back and forth.

In 2000, my grandparents and an uncle of mine bought a trailer and it became their summer home. However, my Grandpa got cancer and died in 2001. Eventually, Grandma sold their home in Florida and moved back to Detroit full-time, mainly in an active senior residence. For us, Grandma was the centerpiece of the family and we all loved coming over to see her.

During the 2000s when it seemed that everybody in our family was struggling financially thanks to Dubya's policies, Grandma was nice enough to give us money when we needed it. When gas prices were over $4 per gallon, she gave us $100 for coming over to see her. When I collapsed at Chicago O'Hare Airport in 2006, she paid my medical bills. When a cousin of mine needed money to attend bartending school, she gave him the money.

Sadly, dementia caught up with her. One time, she called me her "nephew" even though I was her grandson. We all knew that eventually, assisted living would be in her future. And not long ago, it became reality.

I saw Grandma for the final time a few weeks ago in a hospital near Detroit. By then, she was like a roller coaster. Many days, she would be sleeping and some days, she would be awake, but not for long. When I saw her, she was awake, but didn't talk at all. She was weak and was fighting an infection, so we all had to wear aprons. My Dad and I both said our goodbyes. I was the one who walked out last. It was then I said, "goodbye, Grandma".

A week later, one of my cousins came to visit and she was wide awake, singing and talking. In a way, I felt like he should have been the one cousin saying goodbye to Grandma since both my grandparents seemed to be the ones raising him. His dad, their son was away working while his mom was working two jobs.

Two weeks ago, Grandma was placed in Hospice and her feeding tube was removed. When she died on Friday, my oldest aunt was watching over her as she passed. After work on Friday, I saw that my dad had left me a message. I called him and he told me the news.

When Grandma died, I didn't necessarily shed any tears. I knew that her decades of pain and suffering from polio had ended. Her later years were spent on a Rascal scooter going from point A to B. But now in the afterlife, she can move freely as she's reunited with Grandpa and all of the people in our family we've lost over the years, some too soon.

Sadly, at the same time all this is going on, my middle aunt has been stricken with brain cancer and is not doing good at all. She sleeps about 90% of the time and we think that she'll be joining Grandma real soon. When this happens, we're going to have a double burial.

But the good news is that I've had many great memories of all the great people in my life who have all left us. All four of my grandparents are all gone, but I've had wonderful memories of all of them. It's one milestone of my life that has passed, but it's time to create new ones.

The best thing of all this was that unlike my other three grandparents, I was able to say goodbye to my Grandma. However, it does sicken me that I'll be 37 this Saturday and I'm still single and childless. If I do have a child, my Grandma will never see the beginning of the sixth generation of my family. But then again, nothing's perfect.

Thanks, Grandma. Say hi to Grandpa for me.

Many of us guys hate the putrid sound of an alarm clock in the morning.

For me, I have the unfortunate mispleasure of waking up at 4:30 a.m. and being out of the house by 5:40. During this time, there's hardly anything on TV but local morning news. Here in Grand Rapids, the best source for morning news is WOOD-TV 8's Daybreak and sadly, even they're marginally watchable at times.

The show is hosted by a yenta, Teresa Weakly and the however decent Casey Jones (and I wonder if that's his real name). But then, there's Terri the Whor-er, DeBoer who is an old and irritating weathergirl who needs to retire.

Sadly, after Daybreak is an even worse show, Today since WOOD has been an NBC affiliate for almost 70 years. Sadly, in recent years, that show has eroded to being barely watchable. You've got two yentas hosting the first two hours, and right-winged cunt hosting the 9 a.m. hour and don't even get me started on Kathie Lee and Hoda.

For decades, it's been a misconception that only women watch daytime TV. Station programmers are stuck in the 1960s, thinking that women stay home while their husbands work. Hell, I tried living that life once and in this day and age, it doesn't work from a financial standpoint. Of course, it was one huge reason why I kicked her ass out of my house. But, let's face it: there's guys who work second or third shift and they don't want to wake up to five old bitches sitting around a desk like hens in a hen house.

So, why in the fuck is ESPN alienating their viewers for yet another unneeded show for yentas?

Yep, I said it correctly. ESPN now airs a show in the morning that nobody seems to like. It's called Get Up and it's hosted by Jalen Rose, Michelle Beadle and former Mike and Mike co-host Mike Greenberg. Sadly, this is the reason why Mike and Mike split up: it's so Greenberg can do a TV show while the other Mike, Golic stayed with ESPN Radio with Trey Wingo. Anyway, the show's ratings are beyond horrid and critics are trashing the show left and right, comparing it to the other morning chick-chat shows.

Not long ago, I had a discussion with an owner of an ESPN radio station and he told me that with the bullshit going down in Bristol, he might be dumping it. He's unhappy with the constant schedule changes, plus the fact that it's expensive to carry. Hell, I don't think there's a single station in Detroit that carries ESPN Radio anymore. Tragically, the TV side's getting to be not much different.

Look, guys have long looked to ESPN as an alternative to the chick shit that dominates cable and regular TV. During the daytime, there's hardly any good shows us guys can enjoy outside of game shows like The Price is Right and Jerry Springer. I don't want Rachael Ray making me a sloppy joe, I don't want to see Tinker Bell Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa bragging about some shitty reality show and I sure as hell don't want Ellen DeGeneres doing ditto. Even more, I don't want the same shit on ESPN. Whomever thought up this abortion should have been fired. (Oh, wait, he's already gone (and I apologize for using Fox News as a source.)

But there is a silver lining in all this: Get Up is at least a better sports show than a certain weekday radio show here in Grand Rapids that airs from 3-6 p.m. on a certain station whose frequency is between 107.2 and 107.4.
