Ut-oh, somebody's been probably drinkin' with Kid Rock....
A man that I rarely if ever talk about in these parts, Hank Williams, Jr., got himself into some deep trouble with the show that's been a breadwinner to him for over 20 years.Monday Night Football dropped his long-time theme song, "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight" because of comments he made on Fox News Channel over President Obama. On Fox and Friends, Bocephus told their wonked out hosts that watching President Obama golf with John Boehner is like Hitler playing with Benjamin Netanyahu.
In hillbilly redneck terms, Obama is just like Hitler. Understandable.
Of course, MNF dropped 'Rowdy' as a response to Jr.'s uncalled for outburst. A day later, Williams canceled an appearance on another Fox News show, Hannity to release an apology to those offended by his statement.
Williams is a long-time Republican and even campaigned for many candidates such as John McCain and George W. Bush. He even re-did many of his classics for their campaigns, i.e. "Family Tradition" became "McCain-Palin Tradition".
But, there's a voice of reason, and it's his own son, Hank III. He told TMZ that there's only one person in music who should ever talk politics, and it's Dead Kennedys lead singer Jello Biafra. Biafra is a leader in the Green Party. However, III - a cowpunk singer - has kept his opinions to himself.
Ya know, I remember a song Jr. did on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a few years ago called "Red White and Pink-Slip Blues". It was about a man who loses his job and is fighting foreclosure on the family home. At the end of the song, he yells "politicians, I'm talkin' to you!" Yeah, well, Mr. Republican, guess why the man lost his job: union busting, outsourcing and skyrocketing CEO pay and tax-lowering, all brought to you by Reagan and the two Bushes.
Calling out Obama's not going to help your career, especially when there's thousands of liberals storming Wall Street and elsewhere demanding that the government shut evil CEOs down.
Right now, I'll betcha that Jr.'s own father is spinning in his grave. One of the great legends of Country Music that I've heard is that the original Hank Williams learned to play the guitar from a black porter. Not too shabby since many southerners and Country Music fans hate dem coloreds with a passion. Thanks to changing times, blacks have evolved from porters to businessmen to the President of the United States.
If only Sr. wasn't a heavy drinker, maybe Jr. would make some sense.

Well I do have to say, at least the Republicans don't look for handouts and want everything free like the left, why I don't vote left. Opportunity I'll take any day over security.
