Today, the Detroit Tigers played a day game, beating the Twins. Yes, the Rally Goose is alive and well in the Motor City.
Since my nighttime TV habit has revolved around the Tigers and they weren't playing tonight, I remembered that I promised myself to list all of the sponsors of The Cosby Show on TV One, the TV network that still has the gall to air that show even after Cosby's guilty verdict.
I was expecting mostly promos and filler, but I was SHOCKED to see many A-list sponsors that aired during the show, which airs on the 88th most-viewed TV network here in the US. With the show being axed on other channels like Bounce and TV Land, some could wonder if having Cosby all to themselves would help improve TV One's ratings.
So here you go, folks. Here's a list of the sponsors of last night's block of The Cosby Show, which aired at 7pm tonight:
Progressive
IKEA
Macy's
NBC (promoting their new show Marlon)
Domino's
Allegra
Energizer
US Army
Jeep
AT&T
Allstate
Kohl's
KFC
Denny's
The General Insurance
Blue Bunny Ice Cream
Rent-A-Center
Kleenex
McDonald's
So Clean C-Pap Machines
Cadillac
Zillow
Gold Bond
Metro PCS
Nissan
Wendy's
Cottonelle
Kellogg's Eggo
Gilead Pharmaceuticals
Yep, 29 sponsors of a show starring a monster who drugged and raped over 60 women in his career. Yet, it was one who brought him to justice.
BTW, the two episodes were one where Cosby entertains a bunch of children at Olivia's birthday party and another was when BB King shows up at the Huxtables' home. I didn't laugh once during either episode. Neither seemed to have a plot.
Ya know, it's sad that when Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a cunt, State Farm and Autotrader pulled their spots. Reportedly, TBS's airing of Full Frontal last week was mostly filled with promos for other TBS shows. Yet, 29 companies still support the supposed humor of a monster who ruined the lives of so many women.
Folks, calling a wealthy woman a cunt is a tap on the shoulder as opposed to raping and drugging one herself. Why is corporate America still supporting this bullshit?!?! I know, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Phylicia Rashad, Raven Symone and others did nothing wrong and they deserve residuals. But in the great words of Buck Strickland, "sometimes, you gotta kill the horse to save the leg."
Please. Stop the madness.
