OK, so I shouldn't be too tough on the Lions. After all, they came within three points of winning and unlike last week, viewers didn't have to sit through Beth Mowins trying to sound buff.
But, an L is still an L.
I'm still wondering if the Lions WILL win a game this year. Next week, they're playing Patricia Matthews' ex-team, the New England Patriots. It's funny how the Lions fire Jim Caldwell, the team's winningist coach in 50-odd years and they replace him with Patricia only because as defensive coordinator, he helped them win a few Super Bowls. Like I mentioned last week, Same shit happened with the Red Wings when they hired a coach who helped the Grand Rapids Griffins win the Calder Cup. Now, the Red Wings are has-beens and it doesn't help that Henrik Zetterberg is retiring after 19 seasons on the ice.
What's even worse is that the Cleveland Browns - who went 0-16 last year - aren't even winless this year after they tied with the Steelers on their first game.
At the end of the game Sunday, Fox announced that there's now a 12% chance that the Lions will make the playoffs since traditionally, 88% of all teams that go 0-2 in the beginning of the season won't make the playoffs. Since they've only won one game this season - albeit in the preseason - That's just about right. But, if Patricia can prove us all wrong, he should do so.
Well, for starters, their QB sucks.
