12.4.18 Bee-otch of the Day: George H.W. Bush

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

Name: George H.W. Bush
Age: was 94
Occupation: ex-president
Last Seen: not on this earth
Bee-otched For: well, everything

A few weeks ago, animation historian Steve Stanchfield uploaded to YouTube an old piece of propaganda.

It was a 1936 animated campaign film produced for Alf Landon, who was running for president against Franklin D. Roosevelt. In the film - produced by Ted Eshbaugh - a jackass donkey does what they do the best: kicks and eats everything in its sight. In the end, a regular donkey - used to symbolize "constitutional" Democrats - kicks the jackass into the distance while an elephant walks in. In the end, Uncle Sam is using the donkey and the elephant to plow together, symbolizing unity in the two-party system.

Of course, it was the Repukes who got us into the Great Depression as it was. But instead of listening to them, FDR went at it alone and the New Deal helped save America from ruin. Alf Landon of course lost the 1936 election and fell into obscurity.

Growing up, I learned about sportsmanship. If somebody is better than you, you congratulate that person and so on. One of the problems with that in politics is the fact that for too long, bipartisanship tends to lead to us Americans not getting the same respect people in other countries get. Look at Obamacare: it's not universal healthcare, but at least it's better than your insurer telling you that you can't get treated simply because you have a pre-existing condition.

To me, I get flustered hearing about the two sole Democratic presidents in my lifetime kissing George H.W. Bush's ass after he died Friday night. Hell, Clinton even referred to 41 as his second father and Obama seemed to be quite fond if the Bushes even after he inherited the fucking quagmire his son created.

Yes, 41 had one quality, and it was the fact that he was one-and-done with his presidency. Simply put, he was Reagan's third term, busting unions, fucking up the economy and totally ignoring the AIDS crisis. He was obsessed with war, throwing our troops into Iraq.

But the worst quality of 41 was definitely 43. He threw us into Iraq again, plus Afghanistan for no reason whatsoever. To this day, our poor, tired troops are over in Afghanistan fighting an oil man's war. Let's not forget the 3000 poor souls who died on 9/11 over his ignorance and the 4000 more in his fake wars. Dubya is wanted in several countries for war crimes.

You know, the more I think about the Bushes, the Repukes and the Dems who kiss their ass, the more I wish we had real progressives in politics. The real test to me is healthcare. We're one of the few nations on earth where it costs $2,000 to excise a CYST. Yes, a cyst. Trust me on this one since it happened to me last summer.

But to me, one of the big reasons why I hate the Bushes is because of how they and Reagan fucked over the middle class in the 1980s. They busted the unions and gave the wealthy a huge tax break. When I graduated a small tech school in 2001, there were NO jobs out there. NONE. My asshole conservative Repuke ex-stepdad wanted me out of his house, even forcing my mom to force me to sign an application for an apartment with me not having a decent job. Thanks to people like GHWB, my mom and ex-stepdad were stuck in a timewarp where there were jobs everywhere when there weren't, especially in rural northern Michigan.

So there. George H.W. Bush is dead and I feel fine, thank you very much. Didn't like what I had to say? Walk a few miles in my shoes. I had to live TEN FUCKING YEARS making chicken shit wages and no other real jobs around. I even threatened to move several times. When people pushed me down for having a shitty job and living in a shitty apartment, I wished they would walk in my shoes and others who had college degrees and making $8/hr. at Walmart. Not my or their fault. This is what we get for voting Republican, and this is what happens when we have Democrats who don't mind giving them a rimjob.

BTW, I love Mike Peters' editorial tribute to GHWB and his wife, Barbara. It's too bad the parachute opened.

11.29.18 Bee-otch of the Day: NFL

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

Name: National Football League
Age: 98
Occupation: football league
Last Seen: New York, NY
Bee-otched For: hypocrisy

Yesterday, the sports world was shocked when former 49ers running back Reuben Foster was picked up on waivers by the Washington Redskins. Foster was arrested a few days ago for misdemeanor domestic violence against a female friend.

For many, this is bringing anger to football fans and those against hurting women alike. The NFL has a stringent policy against domestic violence, but why the Redskins hired Foster is a mystery. The team has said that Foster still has to go through NFL guidelines to be hired, so he might not get one second on the field.

Of course, this is the same league who frowned on Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the National Anthem. Today, he's a free agent while somebody who puts his hands on a woman at least gets a contract with one of the league's most-controversial teams, especially with their racist name.

But this is the NFL we are talking about. A league whose owners are mainly Repukes. Hell, Pats owner Bob Kraft is good buddies with Drumpf! This clearly sends the wrong message to fans, especially children.

If I had a kid and they kneeled in front of the National Anthem, that's their choice. But assault on a woman is beyond wrong. Reuben Foster belongs in prison, not an NFL uniform.

People like Foster are bigger pussies than the Detroit Lions.

11.28.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Trump

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

On Monday, General Motors made a stunning announcement: 15,000 jobs would be cut and five plants would be closing.

Three of the plants are in Drumpf Country: Ohio and Michigan (and I'm still pissed that my home state went red in 2016). Now bear in mind that Drumpf went around the Rust Belt bitching and moaning that those who worked in automotive will still have jobs under his belt. Of course, now he's bitching that he's going to cut GM's subsidies if they go forward. Methinks that Drumpf is simply saying this because he knows that 2020's around the corner and he's banking on the midwest to help him again.

Already, he's still a hit in the south.

Earlier today, it was announced that controversial Mississippi senator Cindy Hyde-Smith won her runoff election against Democratic nominee Mike Espy, who is black. Hyde-Smith made controversy recently when she told somebody that she wouldn't mind being in front of a crowd to watch a hanging. Sadly, Mississippi is a state well-known for racial bigotry. Hell, even the town's NBC-TV station had its license originally revoked in 1971 because their owners had ties to the KKK! The state was also one of the last to ban slavery.
 Sadly, Drumpf endorsed Hyde-Smith naturally.

With the endorsement of somebody who thinks that lynching is funny and encouraging our troops to tear gas those trying to get into our country, plus pretending to care about auto workers, we can totally understand the type of people Drumpf wants to support him. And yes, it's the white man, who thinks that he deserves more than those who want the same freedom as everybody else. The real truth is that Drumpf is doing it all for the wealthy. GM made $6 billion last year and they ain't hurting.

The good news is that 2020 is around the corner, though the bad news is that I'm pissed that the Democrats want Nancy Pelosi to be Madam Speaker again. REALLY?!? Remember, she didn't want Dubya to be impeached over war crimes and recently, she warned her fellow reps about impeaching Drumpf. Sorry, but 'Ol Stretchface has shown that she's a fake Dem. If the Dems want REAL leadership, they oughta get Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to take that post. It pisses me off that she'll only be 31 in 2020 or else she could run for president. We need real progressive leadership, not somebody who licks Repuke ass.

Only two more years of this. But, the Dems have got to be strong.

11.27.18 Hero of the Day: Steven Hillenburg

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Stephen Hillenburg
Age: was 57
Occupation: marine biologist-turned animator
Last Seen: in the big pineapple in the sky
Awarded For: giving us Spongebob
--

In the world of animation, there are some names one can easily recognize in a snap. Names like Walt Disney, Walter Lantz, Hanna-Barbera and Max Fleischer, just to name a few.

There are those whose work is almost easily recognizable, like Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Jim Tyer. Oh, and let's not forget Ralph Bakshi and John Kricfalusi.

Granted, Steven Hillenburg wasn't a household name to most. But, for those whose TV is set to Nickelodeon a lot of the time, his name appears on the screen as the creator of Spongebob Squarepants.

As we all know by now, Hillenburg died yesterday at age 57 from ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. He announced his diagnosis in March. It's almost hard to believe that Spongebob has been on Nick for 20 years now with new, original episodes. As a kid, I remembered DougRugratsRocko's Modern Life and oh yes, Ren and Stimpy. When Spongebob made its debut in 1999, this very website was being born and I was beginning my life as a senior in high school. I felt too old for the show, but I have seen a few episodes and they're OK.

Hillenburg was born in Oklahoma to a military family. However, he spent most of his childhood in Anaheim, CA. His love of marine biology came as a young child, bringing home objects from tide pools that sat on the counter and died. He also loved to draw; one of his earliest drawings was of soldiers kissing and hugging since he was a kid during the Vietnam era.

In the 1980s, Hillenburg became a marine biology teacher, often using art to teach his students. One of the comics he created featured characters he later used on Spongebob. He left that position to become an animator. In 1993, he finally made it big directing episodes of the Nickelodeon classic Rocko's Modern Life. However, when the show was canceled in 1996, he looked to his old comics as a marine biologist to create Spongebob. He even cited Bakshi's The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse cartoon series from the late 80s and even Pee-Wee's Playhouse as influences. The show debuted in 1999 and quickly became Nick's most-popular show.

Of course, there are other cartoon shows that have been on longer than SpongebobThe Simpsons and South Park. But even though those two programs are geared towards adults, a huge chunk of SS's fans are grown-ups, too. As a matter of fact, SS merchandise has made over $13 billion for Nickelodeon. Not bad for a goofy yellow sponge.

True, all great fictional characters have all succeeded without their beloved creators. But knowing that the brilliant mind who gave us Spongebob is gone just simply tears away at its soul.

It's truly a sad day in Bikini Bottom.

11.26.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Jean Kasem

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Jean Kasem
Age: 64
Occupation: golddigger
Last Seen: Los Angeles, CA
Bee-otched For: keeping her feet on the ground, but aiming too high
--

It was one of the weirdest stories in the entertainment business in a long, long time. Why the wife of the man who gave us Shaggy and American Top 40 would put her husband in so much turmoil was beyond us for years.

On Saturday night, the long-running CBS News series 48 Hours exposed the situation regarding the drama between radio legend Casey Kasem's wife and his children from his first marriage. They explained that Kasem was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, which is like Parkinson's Disease in 2007. Two years later, he stepped away from his two adult contemporary radio countdowns. I personally remembered listening to some of his final shows and noticed that his speech was a little off.

Casey's appearances started to become too far and between. Then, it was revealed from his daughter Kerri that not only did he have dementia, but she and her two siblings from Kasem's first wife were being barred from seeing him per his wife, Jean. She claimed that the three only wanted Casey's money. However, all three worked; as a matter of fact, Kerri and brother Mike followed in their father's footsteps into radio. Jean, OTOH, was an occasional actress who simply lived off of Casey.

The 48 Hours episode revealed that Jean never got along with Casey's three older children. When Casey's health deteriorated, Jean did her damndest to hide him from them, even taking him out of his nursing care without his medications to take him to Las Vegas and finally to her friend's house in Washington State. The Kasem kids found out his location and a judge ordered him to be back into their care. It was at Jean's friend's house that she threw hamburger at them and spewed Bible verses at them as well. By the time Casey was escorted by ambulance to the hospital, he was beyond saving since Jean did not give him proper medication. The Kasem kids were told by his doctor to cut off his medication and they did. Kemal Amin Kasem died on June 15, 2014 at the age of 82. Currently, Jean has him buried in Oslo, Norway, a place Kasem's children claimed that he never even visited.

Now, a judge will decide this Spring on who gets Casey's $100 million fortune (that's a lot of Long Distance Dedications). The two sides are suing and countersuing each other claiming that they both killed Casey.

Personally, if I were the judge, I would rule in favor of Casey's three older children. Why? Because the same shit happened to my aunt this past year. As I've mentioned, my aunt died in July at the age of 60 from brain cancer. She was a saint who left us too soon. She always always thought of others and helped out when she could, like Casey's many charitable efforts for progressive politics, animal rights and the MDA Labor Day Telethons. When I had major money troubles a few years ago and I announced that I was donating plasma, she gave me $50. She always invited me over for Sunday dinner and so on. However, she never seemed to think about herself and her own welfare, and there were two reasons why: her children.

My aunt worked hard to become a registered nurse. However, working seemed to never mean a damn thing for her two kids. Her daughter married a wealthy man and her son never had a good job and basically lived with her until he was 30. He ended up moving to Detroit, became a holier-than-thou Catholic and married a Chaldean woman who worked in real estate. Now, the two are in the real estate business.

When my aunt was diagnosed with brain cancer, she needed around-the-clock care. My female cousin did look after her for a while, but her husband told her to get rid of her and my male cousin, well, was a total asshole. She was put in an assisted living care center and he got into a shouting match with her doctor. So guess what he did? The same shit Jean did to Casey: took her out of the care center without her meds. He put his own mom onto a dirty old mattress on his apartment floor. The next morning, she was having a seizure and somebody did call 911. He simply went to the hospital and drove home without being by her side. Sadly, the seizure wiped what little life she had left.

To make matters worse, her daughter came here to Michigan, but only to visit her in-laws. Her excuse? "I'll see her next month". Well, she didn't make it. She died on July 19. At the spur of the moment, he planned her funeral and decided to bury her in a mausoleum instead of honoring her wish of having her buried next to my grandparents.

The tragedy in all this is that she left behind $150,000 and it all went to them. They don't deserve a goddamned penny of that money after how they treated her. They did to their mother some of the same shit Jean did to Casey and it's disgusting. What's even more disgusting is that today's my aunt's son's birthday. I check on Facebook and virtually nobody from my family wished him a happy birthday. Sucks to be him. As far as I'm concerned, he's no longer a part of my family. It's sad that he has a wife, a baby daughter and another kid on the way. I fantasize her leaving him because of his actions, but since Chaldeans are weird people, I don't ever see that happening, sadly. I might not be married, have kids or lots of money, but I'm thankful that my mom recently moved close to me. Currently, she's fighting the stomach flu and so, I went to the store and got her some Vernor's. When I did, I told myself that what I just did was a TRILLION times more positive than the shit my aunt's two kids did to her.

The point is that this is enough proof that Jean is a fucking space cadet and needs to be thrown in jail. It's a shame that Casey simply used her as his personal arm candy (and as you can tell, she's taller than him) and his children had to suffer. If a man knows that he's being used, it must come to a stop. But, who knows? At least his kids knew to put him in their care when the first signs of dementia were hitting him.

I, like millions of people around the world loved Casey and I even convinced my mother when I was a kid to skip church to listen to Casey's Top 40. I learned a lot more from him and Shadoe Stevens growing up than any Sunday School teacher. I wanted to get into radio as a kid because of him, but of course, that wasn't meant to be since the radio business sucks, sadly. Of course, I was saddened when the news of his illness and family drama came about. At least he's no longer suffering.

Casey would always end his show with "keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars". If a statement was attached to Jean, it should be "don't let the door hit you on the ass".
