In 2008, America voted in a new president who vowed to create change.
The Bush administration proved that they couldn't create jobs and blasted billions of our hard-working dollars on fake wars and tax cuts for the wealthy. We elected Barack Obama to overhaul Bush's mistakes and to hold the Republicans accountable for their actions.
[As the president enters his third year in office in a few weeks, he's proven that he's now almost weak and powerless against John Boehner and his posse. Last month, he extended Bush's tax cuts for both the middle class AND the wealthy. Obama only wanted to help the middle class, but was forced to cave in to the Repukes demands to get any support from the right.
Now, as the new House enters session, the new Republican majority is going to hunt down Obama to make sure that he'll leave office the first one term wonder since Bush Sr. Their target? In their terms, Obamacare.
Yep! Obama's healthcare bill, designed to help Americans against the insurance companies is in danger of being overturned because the Republicans basically want the old, outdated system to be maintained. The House is planning to vote next week on repealing the health care bill passed last year by the president. One reason why they want to repeal the bill is due to the fact that they claim it would increase the deficit, even though the Democrats claim that it's the other way around by $143 billion by 2019.
Yet this is another reason why I won't vote Republican. They make nothing but excuses as to why we Americans can't have it better than those in other countries. They're nothing more than heartless thugs who bow to insurance companies that will make up an excuse why they won't help a woman battling breast cancer or a kid with leukemia. Pre-existing condition my ass. If everybody in this country saw Michael Moore's last two films, they would realize how slimy the Republicans and corporate Democrats like Chris Dodd are.
At this point, IF "Obamacare" gets repealed and Americans are stuck with health insurance they cannot afford, all I can say in the long run is this: don't blame me, I never voted Republican in my life. I'm tired of people talking about how the insurance in England, Japan and Canada is "socialism" and yet people in those countries don't worry about having to pay massive bills. I think the truth is that the Repukes just want to kiss the wealthy's ass and slam the middle class, or should I say working poor further down the spiral.
As Trent Reznor once said, "bow down before the one you serve, you're gonna get what you deserve."
