One of the saddest news stories of 2012 was when Michigan governor Rick Snyder signed into law the state's right to work status. For many, this means the end of unions in this state for all we know. Without unions, this means that many in Michigan will now have to work for low wages and higher chances of dying at work from being forced to do something they shouldn't be doing. Now, the unpopular governor is using his new law to his advantage by using the state's tourism dollars to promote it. For years, the state's Pure Michigan campaign has drawn millions of tourists to the Great Lakes State, but Snyder has decided to use it to attract business, especially those whose passion is to make millions while their employees work too many hours for low wages. The full-page ad, which was published in Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal touts Michigan's new right-to-work law by calling it a "preferred place to do business" and talks about lower taxes for businesses as well. While many conservatives praise Snyder, many are calling his misuse of the Pure Michigan campaign absolute stupidity. Some claim that Snyder making Pure Michigan a Republican campaign was a bad decision and nothing short of disgusting. Well, I tend to agree. Look, folks, 2014 can't come sooner. I, and so many people here in Michigan want Snyder out. Just another failed CEO who is just like Bush, trying to do good but will fail in the long run. Shame on him for trying to make this state more for the wealthy and less about the hard-working people like you and me who keep this state moving. I hope our next governor will be just like Jennifer Granholm and work hard for the working class and to create solutions to get this state back on track.
