It's so pathetically sad when people decide to put a (D) after their name, and sometimes, they don't act like it.
In the case of Grand Rapids mayor Rosalynn Bliss, that letter needs to be a (C).
Yesterday, Bliss was at Ah Nab Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids making a speech before the annual Labor Day walk. However, that speech was short-lived when from out of nowhere, protesters sprung out, attacking the mayor's labor record.
The protests where from the Grand Rapids Amalgamated Transit Union and its supporters, who claim that the supposed liberal mayor is anti-union. The ATU is angry that they have been working without a contract for two years while Bliss recently voted to give The Rapid's CEO a raise.
The protesters were holding signs that read "Ignorance is Bliss", "Bliss Hurts Working Families" and one that even said "Union-Busting Bliss Put Me in Jail". However, their voices are indeed strong. They marched around Bliss to the point that the police escorted her home.
Sadly, Bliss is proof that some people should NOT call themselves Democrats. Not only is Bliss anti-union, she's anti-First Amendment. In 2006, Bliss, a city commissioner at the time helped to pass the idiotic strip club ban. One club, Parkway Tropics invited her to investigate the place but denied the invitation. Rumor has long had it that the wealthy Devos family played a role in the ban since its brainchild, Judy Rose appeared in a campaign ad for Dick Devos in 2006.
You know, I thought the Democrats were supposed to be the champions for First Amendment rights and labor. But apparently, not Rosalynn Bliss. She's all about what's best for the wealthy while the middle class sinks. Hell, why in the hell do I see a lot of panhandlers at the street corners in the city. Oh, yeah! It's because Bliss don't care. It's all about giving this town a stupid yearly festival that's nothing more than a three-week commercial for the Devoses while single guys like me are forced to drive all the way to Lansing to see naked pussy. Single women in Grand Rapids, after all, are mostly dumbasses.
I hope in 2020, not only is Drumpf dismissed from the presidency, but Bliss will be eliminated from being the mayor. One likes to grab 'em by the pussy, the other is a total cunt.
