Would you get your news from the world's richest man?
And would you believe a poll his paper publishes?
Well, that's what's going on with the Washington Post. Last weekend, they put out a poll claiming that the best Democrat to beat Drumpf in 2020 is the outdated Joe Biden. Everybody else - Bernie Sanders included - is more towards the middle.
Yes, this is the same Post that broke out Watergate in the early 70s. However, the Graham family has long since sold the Post and since then, they have seemingly gone more cookie cutter. After all, they defended Michigan's governor Gretchen Whitmer on wanting to raise gas taxes instead of raising taxes on the wealthy.
So guess who the Grahams sold the Post to? Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world and somebody who hardly pays any taxes.
OK, so should be get our news from a mega-billionaire? I think the sad truth is that Bezos is using the Post to make the news and not reporting it. In recent years, Bezos has given a lot of money to Republicans, and for VERY good reason: he's rich. I think that using the Post to tell people that a milquetoast Dem like Biden would beat Drumpf will make people think that he's the sole hope in beating the de facto president.
Look, since 2000, we've had TWO Dems who won the popular vote for president and both lost. Why? IT'S BECAUSE BOTH AL GORE AND HILLARY CLINTON WEREN'T LEFT ENOUGH. Same goes with Joe Biden. Hell, his asskissing of segregationists and weird touching of women are enough to make me not want to vote for him. And guess what? I don't want to hear "vote blue no matter who!" in 2020! There's too many people with a (D) after their name who are simply Repukes in sheep's clothing.
This is why I ALWAYS vote in the primaries. I don't want two Repukes to choose from AGAIN for president. And I sure as hell don't want a billionaire that has caused abandoned buildings left and right to tell me the news.
We the People need to decide for ourselves.
