DON'T FORGET TO "LIKE" BEE-OTCH OF THE DAY ON FACEBOOK! ------------------- Name: Lowe's Age: 90 Occupation: big box supply chain Last Seen: Mooresville, NC Bee-otched For: bowing to bigotry --- Here in America, the three-biggest hardware stores are The Home Depot, Lowe's and Menard's. And they all SUCK. The Home Depot's CEO went on the air to say that the wealthy deserve tax breaks, and the Menard family supports the Koch brothers. Now, the chain I thought would be the lesser of all the evils is EVIL. Earlier this week, Lowe's announced that they were canning all their ads that air during the TLC program All-American Muslim, a reality series about five Arab families living in the Detroit area. The show mainly depicts the families as positive, loving, caring individuals who care a lot about each other and the communities they serve. Too bad the Florida Family Association doesn't think so. The FFA, and other far-right-winged organizations, such as The American Decency Association in Fremont (about 50 miles north of Grand Rapids) are urging advertisers to yank their spots from the show, claiming that the Muslims' Islamic lifestyles are only fodder that supports a life that promotes crime. As usual, these idiots cite 9/11 and claim that all Muslims promote violence and hate America. This, of course, coming from a religion that has given us, oh, the KKK, abortion clinic bombers and Eric Rudolph. Yeah, the Christians in this country live a nice, spotless life unlike those pesky Muslims. Ya know, this is why I urge you to support local businesses and not big boxers like Lowe's. Oddly enough, the nearest hardware to me is (surprise) a Lowe's, but I hardly go there, and as long as they bow to the Religious Reich, I'll avoid them at all costs. ALL businesses that bow to the FFA, the ADA and other right-winged religious hate groups should suck it and be avoided. I'm happy that many celebs like Russell Simmons are doing the same and urging everybody to boycott this horrible company that judges people on race and religion. I'm thankful that I live in a town that still has plenty of True Values, Aces and Do It Bests that are locally-owned and proudly serve their communities. These folks need your support! If you can, support them instead of a chain like Lowe's that's too big for their own good. Yeah, there's a lot of bad Muslims out there, but the same goes to Christians.
