The greatness known to us all as Drumpf never fails to amaze us.
Last week, the Commander in Chump was nice enough to sign an executive order that would go ahead and build the much-ballyhooed wall on the southern US border north of Mexico. Drumpf has said that Mexico would pay for the wall, but the country's president has rejected it. The wall is expected to cost up to $14 billion to build, so guess what Drumpf is now proposing? Forcing Americans to pay an extra 20% on goods and services made in Mexico. That means everything from cars, electronics and even avocados will go up in price by 20%.
Yes, I said avocados. If I were Qdoba, I'd be fuming.
Of course, Drumpf was nice enough to sign another order banning certain refugees from coming here to America. As a result, thousands protested outside airports such as Gerald Ford here in Grand Rapids. Of course, a federal judge issued an emergency stay on Drumpf's decision.
True story: this past Saturday, I was doing my laundry when a young man walked into my laundry room. He was a black man and I could tell that he was a refugee. The dude was very friendly and noticed that I had two loads of folded clothes that I was about to haul back. He offered to help me, but since my apartment was around the corner, I told him no thanks, but thank you anyway. A day later when WOOD-TV 8 covered the airport protests, I was almost shocked that he was interviewed.
Yes, folks, this is what Drumpf doesn't want in our country: a man who came from another nation on Earth who now calls America home, who is nice enough to carry your clothes back to your apartment when needed. But that's what happens when you have a president in the White House who wasn't even elected, but rather chosen because of a broken system that also got Dubya elected.
Meanwhile, it's expected that Betsy Devos will be elected as Education Secretary tomorrow. All the Democrats are expected to vote no on her and for good reason. As for Drumpf, his pick for Supreme Court nominee will be announced tomorrow night.
You know, Drumpf is sticking to his promises and sadly, it's turning into us vs. the world. He's done more damage in 10 days than Dubya did before 9/11. This is scary, folks. Drumpf thinks that if a healthy apple tree produces a bad apple or two, then the whole tree is bad. Yes, there's a few bad apples out there, but guess what? WE CREATED THEM! When Dubya invaded Iraq over alternative facts regarding WMDs, we went there and destroyed their otherwise normal country. Now, they hate us, hence the rebellion known as ISIS. So what's Drumpf doing? Taking a knife and stabbing the wound even more.
2020 can't come soon enough.
