All this afternoon, my phone, which has several news apps has been going off the hook.
You know those old-timey typewriters hooked to news services like AP and UPI? Well, that's how my phone feels. All afternoon, it was going off giving me news about personal lawyer Michael Cohen and campaign chair Paul Manafort, two of Drumpf's cronies. Cohen was guilty on multiple counts on eight charges, including paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 in hush money to keep Drumpf safe in his 2016 election. In court, Cohen didn't name the candidate that he protected, but he only worked for one: Drumpf. Not long ago, Daniels passed a lie detector test in her claim that she had unprotected sex with the de facto president when he married his mail-order bride, Malaria.
Cohen could face up to five years in the slammer.
In Manafort's case, he was the first person tried by Robert Mueller. He's been found guilty of eight counts, including bank fraud and tax evasion, in which he avoided paying $16 million in taxes over the years. However, ten other charges could not be agreed on, leading to a hung jury.
Despite the imperfection of the Manafort case, It's good news for Mueller and bad news for Drumpf, whose allegations are felonious. He's been crying "no collusion!" for a long time, but the past will catch up and it's you and me who will win. If Drumpf loses it all, it will suck to be him.
Oh, and as I'm typing this, he's at a rally in coal country, West Virginia, bitching about how ESPN will not air the National Anthem during NFL football games and how we're getting coal miners back to work. I love it how he calls the people of WV "great people". I think that's code for "suckers".
But the real sucker will hopefully be behind bars soon.
