It's official: Shri Thanedar can crawl back into the hole he got himself out of.
The Indian immigrant lost big in Tuesday's Democratic gubernatorial primary here in Michigan, getting less than 18% of the vote. Thanedar was soundly defeated by Gretchen "Let's Fix The Damn Roads" Whitmer with 52% and Abdul El-Sayed with just over 30 %.
Granted, I was rooting for Abdul, especially since he was a true progressive and was endorsed by Bernie Sanders while Whitmer is more of a corporate Democrat. But then again, I kinda ask myself, if Shri didn't run for governor and it was Whitmer vs. El-Sayed, if El-Sayed could have won.
You see, Shri ran on a platform of progressive politics. Yet, this is a schmuck who ran a company called Azopharma into the ground and its lab animals were all left to die. Plus, he was a supporter of Repukes like John McCain and Marco Rubio. Hell, he didn't know which party to run for in the gubernatorial primary.
Reportedly, Shri spent a whopping $13 million of his own money advertising his campaign. And in the great words of Adam Sandler, "YOU BLEW IT!"
Now, it's Whitmer vs. Shitty, er, Schuette in the November elections. Miss "I won't endorse universal healthcare because I'm being bought by insurance companies left and right" vs. Mr "Drumpf loves me!" Ugh. I might go Green in November. All I know is that if there was any good from Tuesday's primaries, it's that Tough Turd Snyder's legacy will be long gone since Lt. Gov. Brian Calley lost in the election.
But since she is the frontrunner in the November elections, all I can say are that the roads aren't the only thing Whitmer needs to fix.
