Behind every great man, there's a great woman, even if the two are fictional rodents.
And sometimes, the woman will marry the man who voiced that mouse and lend her voice to a school nerd and two evil twins.
That was Russi Taylor, who was Minnie Mouse and Huey, Dewey and Louie's voices for the Walt Disney Company since 1986. She was also the voice of Martin Prince, the school brainiac on The Simpsonsalong with Uter, the foreign exchange student and twins Sherri and Terri.
Not only did she voice Mickey's significant other, she was married to him, too. Taylor was married to Wayne Allwine, Mickey's longtime voice. The two were married for 18 years until his death from diabetes in 2009 at 62. A year before his death, both Allwine and Taylor were named Disney legends.
Now, the world is mourning Taylor's death. She died last weekend at the age of 75 from colon cancer. Disney paid tribute to her on their corporate website, even mentioning her work on The Simpsons (Disney now owns that show as part of their recent buyout of 20th Century Fox). We are sure that Minnie will get a new voice, but the future of Martin Prince is in doubt (bear in mind that when Marsha Wallace died, so did Edna Krabappel).
Needless to say, there's going to be some high heels to fill.
