Looks like Dr. Laura won't retire from radio ashamed after all.

Just a few months after she announced her retirement from her long-running radio program after she uttered the n-word multiple times, the leg-spreading queen of morals might as well be the replacement for the King of All Media. Sirius/XM signed the 63-year-old quack for a multi-year contract that would put her exclusively on the satcaster effectively on January 3rd. Laura's contract with her current syndicator, Talk Radio Network - which also airs Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham - expires at the end of the year.

Just like Howard Stern's contract with Sirius, which also is up for renewal.

Stern's current contract with the satcaster ends on December 17th. While he's off for the holidays, Sirius will air the final chapter of The History of Howard Stern, chronicling his life.

However, on Tuesday's show, Howard told his listeners that he has a plan for his future, but isn't up to revelations quite yet. Some speculate that he may stay with Sirius/XM, but other options include smartphone apps or something like Pandora.

Howard joined Sirius officially January 9th, 2006 with a five-year, $500 million contract. When he joined the company, it only had merely 500,000 subscribers. Today - with its merger with XM - it has over 20 million.
However, Sirius has changed a lot in five years' time. Of course, there was its merger with XM, but there's the fact that at one point, the company was thisclose to bankruptcy. Thanks to some help from Liberty Media, the company is doing much better, though their expenses are quite high.

Many - like myself - feel that Sirius needs to realize who brought them there in the first place, and it's Howard. However, it appears that Dr. Laura's signing - alongside the fact that they're exclusive to a Glenn Beck Christmas special - that they're going after terrestrial radio's current fans: lowlifes. Would the average Dr. Laura fan chip in $100 for a radio and $13 per month to listen to her idiotic rants? I think not.

Point is, if Sirius/XM wants to survive, they need to re-sign Howard. Period. Hell, if he goes somewhere else, I'll let my subscription to Sirius rot since the majority of what I listen to is Howard's show as-is. Sirius has to remember that their fans are mostly male, not wicked old bitches.

Go ahead, Sirius, you need to REALLY take on the day.
