Last week, I was thankful for at least one thing: that I wasn't flying.
The reason, of course is simple: 1) unless you're a doctor or a very hot chick, I don't want people checking out my wang, and 2) I don't want some dude playing with it either. But thanks to new TSA rules, either 1) or 2) have become a reality.
All Thanksgiving week, the new airport security measures were the big news story. As the footage of security dudes patting down other men aired, I thought to myself, "ya know, this shit wouldn't be happening if Bush wasn't our president."
Really.
Think about it. If maybe Al Gore was our president, we'd learn about al-Queda's plans. No, wait a minute, 9/11 happened because the government was doing some type of experiment (cue the footage of the missiles shooting into the Pentagon). Nonetheless, 9/11 was on Bush's time. Let's not also forget that the reason why he was reelected (OK, elected since it was Gore who actually won the 2000 election) was because his administration released an Osama tape days before the election.
Now, nine years after his wrath of destruction began, Osama's still out on the loose and we now have fellow northern Michigan men spilling urine all over their clothes. Plus, President Obama is trying to work with both sides to come up with a plan to reduce the deficit. Obama wants to cut tax breaks for the wealthy while the right claims that making us work until we're 69's the answer.
Once again, thanks again, Bush!
Tragically, Bush is right here in Grand Rapids today, promoting his piece of shit book Decision Points. He will play only to a small crowd at the Gerald R. Ford Museum; the only people allowed in are those who are members of the museum. Tragically, his last visit was only in June (Christ, he's here a lot).
Ya know, if Obama doesn't get a second term in office, it will show that we've given up. I'm tired of people who blame him on EVERYTHING Bush did in office. When we have a media that's overrun with right-winged extremism and sensationalism, this is what we get: stupid people who freak out and vote Republican. Remember, we voted Obama for a reason: to fix Bush's wrongs.
But sadly, even though he's been gone for almost two years, his aegis remains.
