Just what we need during these tough economic times: a Jebus freak who makes money from us taxpayers.
Tony Perkins is a former Louisiana state rep who is the president of the right winged hate group the Family Research Council. The FRC is an organization founded by James Dobson of Focus on the Family fame that is yet another conservative group that uses Jesus to get funding. They act like a religious group, but they're nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Over the years, Perkins has used his FRC powers to attack gays, liberals and now, the working class. In a statement, Perkins said that the government shouldn't raise taxes, period, even on the rich. However, the FRC made $6 million last year from.... THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION!
OK, so it's OK that Perkins get some coinage from the government - and I'm sure that he gets a good salary for sitting around and making foolish statements like that - but goddamn those losers who are struggling to support a family on $9 per hour. Boo hoo hoo, sucks to be them.
On a sidenote, Family Research Council does have a link to west Michigan; one of its original backers was Edgar Prince, the founder of the Prince Corporation which was based in Holland and made car parts, such as sun visors and computers. After he died in 1995 at age 63 from a heart attack, the Prince Foundation was set up to fund other holier-than-thou groups, such as the American Decency Association, the group most-famous for the infamous Howard Stern Information and Action Page (remember that?). Prince was also the father of Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater/Xe.
Folks, the conservative Christian movement in this country has done nothing but kill us whole. Their view is that government shouldn't help those in need and that taxes are evil. Guess what else is evil? MONEY HOARDING! Get out your Bible and read Luke Chapter 18, will ya?
God is neither liberal nor conservative, Republican or Democrat. He's just right. Period.
