After the horrific violence that plagued Charlottesville, VA on Saturday, you might think that our president would help to bring peace.
But nope! Instead, he's pointing fingers.
Today, Drumpf decided to hold a press conference from his little glass castle in New York City. He talked to reporters about the riots in Virginia and told them that BOTH the alt-right and alt-left were the reasons for the riots. He even told a reporter that since this was all over a statue of Robert E. Lee, that maybe statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson - who also owned slaves - be torn down too.
OK, a few things: for one, Drumpf blaming a group of people who didn't do a damn thing wrong shows that he doesn't give a damn about the liberals. It was an alt-right loser who rammed his car into a group of people, not a leftist. The left didn't do anything wrong except bring peace to the sick, disgusting protest to preserve a sick part of American history.
Another thing is that true, Washington and Jefferson were slave owners, but guess what? These people were from a time when it was fashionable. Americans would go to Africa, kidnap a bunch of black folk and drag them across Atlantic waters kicking and screaming. However, we started accepting blacks as equal citizens, but even today, some treat them like shit because they think they're all assholes. Then again, some don't like whites themselves because of the same thing. It's a debate that's been going on forever. I doubt if most people care about Washington and Jefferson's slave ownership.
Sadly, we're stuck with a president who could care less about anybody whose IQ is over room temperature. It was the alt-right and KKK supporters who brought him in and an outdated system dating back to the days of slavery that got him in. But as long as he's president, all we can do is duck and cover.
All I can say to my fellow lefties right now is watch out for cars.
