Bee-otched For: ruining Kmart even more
--
It seems that a lot of folks are thinking that Sears and Kmart will all be gone by the end of the year.
As a matter of fact, 28 more locations just announced that they will be closing.
The troubled retailer will be closing those Kmarts by mid-November. Here in Michigan, three more stores will join the list: Utica/Shelby Township, Bay City and Sandusky in Michigan's thumb, pop. 2,600. Of course, a Kmart would be somewhat ideal in a small town like Sandusky, but guess what? That town has a Walmart.
Here in the Grand Rapids area, the closest Kmarts are in Greenville (about 40 miles away) and Hastings (about 30 miles away). GR is also down to one Sears after their 49-year-old Woodland Mall location closed earlier in the year. That location will be replaced with a new Von Maur that will open in 2019.
Sadly, Sears/Kmart and their idiot CEO Eddie Lampert has grown to become more and more clueless as to how to run a store properly. As a result, newer stores open up while Kmart remains stuck in the past. Why? Of course, Kmart went bankrupt in the 2000s and foolishly bought out Sears some years back. Now, they're bust and Lampert is to blame.
Oh, well. You fail to evolve and you fail, period.
