These are some scary times in Charlottesville, VA.
On Saturday, an alt-right group was protesting the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee when a group decided to counter-protest them. The two sides clashed, and things got disastrous when a 20-year-old asshole from the Toledo area rammed his Dodge Charger into a crowd, injuring more than a dozen people and killing a young woman, 32-year-old Heather Heyer.
Shortly after the incident, Drumpf made a loony tune speech condemning the attacks but refused to name the groups involved. However, earlier today he named the KKK, white supremacist groups and neo-nazis in a second speech. You know, the assholes who elected him in the first place?
Since his election as president, the nation's love of far-right hate groups has risen, probably because many of these same assholes' voices were ignored in the eight years of prosperity under Obama. But thanks to the bullying of Bernie Sanders from the DNC and a flawed electoral college, congratulations! We have de facto president Drumpf.
Thanks to Drumpf, there's businesses that won't serve blacks because why? Because they think that since he's in charge, it's OK to hate. Now, we have towns that have had these fucked up riots or near-riots like up in Kalkaska here in Michigan where the asshole mayor uses his eyesore property downtown to promote Drumpf and attack minorities. Sadly, what has happened in Charlottesville - pop. 48,000 - is proof that hatred is what has made this country the laughing stock of the world. It's pathetic that anybody would drive all the way from Toledump all the way to Virginia in what was a nice Dodge Charger to kill innocent people. Sadly, I think there's no way to get to these people. Why they hate people who aren't of their own color is probably due to them seeing one person of a different race mistreat them, so they're all bad. Maybe it's how society perceives others. Who knows?
But as long as Drumpf is our de facto leader, this will sadly continue.
