Thank God for the Foo Fighters.

This past week, their latest album, the critically acclaimed "Medicine at Midnight" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Album Sales Chart, selling 60,000 units. The album from the beloved rock band, headed by ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, is the group's tenth.

However, on the overall Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, guess who's still at #1? Good 'ol Morgan Wallen's "Dangerous".

Despite being banned from radio stations, CMT and getting kicked off his label, Wallen is still the hottest thing in all of music. To his millions of fans, the fact that he uttered the n-word during a 72-hour binge seems to be no biggie.

Sadly, this is the typical mentality of a country music fan. As some of you recall in 2009, our local country music station here in Grand Rapids, B93 was in a plethora of hot water when thousands of vehicles were flooded at their yearly Birthday Bash in Ionia because the parking lot was in a flood plain. It had rained for several days and downtown Ionia was either going to be flooded or it was going to be those vehicles. Well, since many country music fans are poor white trash, I joked that the combined cost of all those vehicles was something like $41.57.

Tragically, one person who attended the concert wasn't laughing and wrote me a lovely piece of hate mail.

In the letter - complete with poor grammar - said douchenozzle was nice enough to say that I was "Perez Hilton's boyfriend". Awwwww! Thanks for the comment, though I never met the guy in my life, plus the fact that I'm extremely hetero, thank you very much. What's even more pathetic was that I checked out his *I think* MySpace profile and he had a girlfriend at the time.

Sometimes, I'll never get the fact that young, attractive females are into Wallen, even after post-n-word utterance. Now that I'm pushing 40, I find it sad when a young, attractive woman will date a loser and have his kid. And when she finally grows a pair of ovaries and ditches said asshole, she's stuck with a kid that's a striking image of him and begs men to date her. To me, it's a cop out.

But, that's life and the pursuit of capitalism. We vote with our money. If there's a town that has a Walmart vs. the family-owned grocer, the Walmart usually wins and the family-owned grocer ends up being unable to compete and closes. The Waltons are worth ungodly billions while the family that owns the mom-n-pop end up asking themselves "what's next?"

Same goes with people like Chris Brown. He beat up Rihanna and he still sells records. Steve Wilkos goes after deadbeat dads and wifebeaters on his TV show, but he got busted for drunk driving and could have killed somebody himself. Nonetheless, he's still on a myriad of Fox and CW affiliates. Ted Nugent had an affair with a 16-year-old girl while he was in his 30s. Yet, all the rock stations in northern Michigan - sans Rock 105/95-5 - will play "Fred Bear" at the tip of a hat.

Last weekend on Southpaws, hosts Darren Gibson and Katy Steele played a game called "Cancel Culture or Dumbed Out of Position", where they analyzed people like Gina Carano, Wallen, Lou Dobbs and Nick Cannon. When Carano cried that Drumpf supporters like her were compared to Nazi Germany, she got kicked off The Mandalorian and rightfully so. Dobbs got fired from Fox Business Channel for believing in Drumpf's lies and Cannon lost gigs for making anti-sematic comments. All three - plus Wallen - were 'dumbed out of position'. However, cancel culture applies to people like Colin Kaepernick and The (Dixie) Chicks.

So, why do we give free time to people who don't deserve it? Look at Justin Timberlake. He recently apologized to both Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for fucking them over. To me, I think he needs to apologize for 1) ruining music overall in the 90s and 2) yanking off Janet Jackson's bustier, causing the FCC to overreact. But yet, some jerkoff will crank up the radio when "SexyBack" starts blaring. Or even worse, they'll gush over his new movie "Palmer", about a man who mentors a young boy who does things boys normally won't do, like wear makeup, play with Barbies and listens to 'NSync.

You know, I wish people will know why things suck. Wallen is a fucking racist for what he did. Corporate America hates his guts, but not his fans. Why? Because country music fans - thankfully not all of them - are racist, too. Yet, people don't understand why the n-word is evil and it isn't "just a word". Darren Gibson is right: when cancel culture fucks over people, the punishers need to be punished. When Cumulus banned The Chicks, several years later, they were bankrupt. When Hanlon fucked over KLQ and Howard Stern here in Grand Rapids, his company, Citadel went belly up and he left GR a has-been over a serious drunk driving charge. Speaking of radio, sometimes I wonder why "Huge" Bill Simonson is still on the air despite his station, WBBL, only having a .1 share. Oh, yeah! It's because he's in bed with the DeVoses. And guess who made THEM who they are? The morons who buy the crap scAmway sells, the assholes who buy a car from Fox Motors, the jackasses who go to Griffins games and so on. End result: an education secretary who bought herself the job and never taught a class in her life.

And that's why we need to stop making assholes famous.
