Bee-otched For: allowing the veep to blow off the top story

Today was a tough day for many in west Michigan.

Thousands are without power because of massive high winds hitting the area. The town of Woodland in Barry County was hit hard when the roof of an early childhood center was ripped off. Luckily, nobody was injured, though the school will be closed until the damage was assessed. In Clarksville, a century-old building also partially collapsed because of the 60 MPH winds.

But yet on tonight's 5 p.m. newscast on WOOD-TV 8, it wasn't the top story. Instead, they had political reporter Rick Albin talk to Hitler about how he'll get rid of the Jews, or at least have vice president wannabe Mike Pence tell the people of west Michigan how the Republicans will fuck up healthcare because in their mind, Obamacare has been a failure.

You know, I know that talking to somebody like the vice president is important, but dammit, WOOD-TV! Couldn't you wait until mid-newscast because people want to know what's going on out there!

IMHO, WOOD-TV is the lesser of all the news evils here in west Michigan. But it fucking sucks when they bow to the elitist assholes - like the Devos family - who could care less about the rest of us. I have to wonder if the Devoses were a huge factor in getting Pence on the air. Instead of doing what they think is a once-in-a-lifetime interview with a man they THINK is important, they need to get their heads out of their asses and cover what might be one of the most-damaging weather stories to hit west Michigan in years.

But since Repukes don't believe in climate change and science, well, there you go.
