11.30.17 Bee-otch of the Day: Cumulus

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: Cumulus Media
Age: 20
Occupation: broadcast giant
Last Seen: Atlanta, GA
Bee-otched For: officially proving that they've failed

--
In the world of radio, it seems that failure is indeed an option. Want proof? Look at Cumulus.

The media Goliath announced this week that they've filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company is riddled with $2.4 billion in debt and was recently demoted out of NASDAQ and onto the pink sheets because their stock price had been under a dollar for quite some time.

Today, Cumulus was trading at a whopping nine cents per share.

To add insult to injury, Cumulus apparently is in arrears with Nielsen in regard to ratings. As a result, in the trends, none of their stations in Grand Rapids were ranked.

A few years ago, I somewhat cheered when they bought out Citadel and fired Matt Hanlon. However, they did extremely little to fix his messes here in Grand Rapids. The only major change that they made here in town was when they switched Thunder 94.5 to another one of their Nash country outlets. Also, they lost the Tigers and Red Wings to iHeartMedia's cluster. All they have left are the Lions.

The only station they have in GR that's doing anything these days is WLAV. The rest are all their competitors' bitches (i.e. B93 is beating Nash, WSNX is ahead of 105.3 Hot FM and WOOD-AM/FM is WAAAAY ahead of WJRW. Lets not forget 96.1 ESPN, which would be CREAMING WBBL if they didn't move their hosts around and so on).

The truth is, Cumulus deserves to be bankrupt. The funny thing is was that 16 years ago, they ordered all their Howard Stern affiliates to drop the show, claiming it was too expensive. Look at his former Toledo station: the ratings crumbled and they ended up switching format multiple times. Both Citadel and Cumulus were/are anti-Stern companies and in the end, they got what they got.

Oh, and speaking of Toledo, Don't get us started on 1470 AM, which went dark.

I laugh at those companies that ditch Stern and in the end, they're billions in debt because they don't think like a Stern listener. A man who loves prime rib doesn't like rawhide. With so many going to the internet and satellite, it's proof that with billions in debt, corporate radio is dying a slow, painful death.

So, what's next for Cumulus? At nine cents per share, who knows? Plus, what companies are buying? Personally, I'd like to see WKLQ be reborn here in Grand Rapids, but hell will freeze over when that happens (although I heard that Free Beer and Hot Wings' contract is set to expire). Same with firing Bill Simonson. Asshole doesn't even have a two share and is a waste of money. It shows that corporate radio has a high tolerance of failure, even when the stock price is under a penny.

Cumulus, how low can you go?

11.29.17 Bee-otch of the Day: NBC

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: The National Broadcasting Company

Occupation: broadcast giant

Bee-otched For: allowing one brick to fall, but allowing others to stay

OK, so when will guys learn that women don't want to see their junk or even be touched? Obviously, the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Charlie Rose, Louis CK, Al Franken, John Conyers and - gotta throw this in - Drumpf all haven't gotten the memo.

Now, it's time to throw Matt Lauer's name onto the list.

This morning, the world was stunned when his Today Show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, fought back tears as it was announced that he had been terminated from NBC over a memo that network brass had received from a female coworker of his that he had done something inappropriate to her. Allegedly, the action occurred during the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Lauer had been a part of Today since 1994 as a news anchor. In 1997, he moved up to the male co-anchor chair with Katie Couric, where he remained for 20 years, making him one of the show's longest-serving hosts. Of course, the female anchor position changed many times over the years with Couric, Meredith Viera, Ann Curry and Guthrie. When Curry was let go from the show a few years ago, many blamed Lauer for her dismissal. Once a strong #1 in the morning ratings, the show has since dipped to second place behind ABC's Good Morning America.

The news of Lauer's firing from the Peacock Net comes a week after his CBS This Morning competition, Charlie Rose was also 86'd when several women claimed the same thing. He was also dismissed from his long-running PBS show.

Now, what Lauer allegedly did was probably disgusting. After all, it was sickening enough for NBC to fire him. But that's not why I'm handing NBC the honor of Bee-otch of the Day today. It's because quite simply, The Today Show sucks.

I felt that Lauer was a decent newsman up until this incident was revealed. But the sad thing is, NBC has been milking the shit out of the show like it's the only show they have to offer at times. The show is on the air four hours in the morning and to add insult to injury, they repeat the fourth hour with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb at 2:05 a.m. on many stations. The fact that NBC also decided to hand the third hour of the show to Megyn Kelley shows how fucking stupid they are.

Oh, and let's not forget that those happy-go-lucky news stories done by Dubya's little girl, Jenna. How many "#metoo" moments did she have to have to get her job? Every time I see that fat ho on my TV screen, I grab the remote. "Hi! My Daddy's stupidity killed 3,000 on 9/11 and 4,000 more in Iraq and Afghanistan! I need a job!"

To me, it's laughable seeing NBC News falling apart. As a believer in karma, I'm happy that they were forced to kick Brian Williams from the anchor chair and now, Matt Lauer after what they did to MSNBC and its once-proud left lean. Ed Schultz = GONE. Keith Olbermann = GONE. And so on. Now, it's a weird mix of what little left-wing influence they have left plus the right-winged assholes they now have like Hugh Hewlett. Granted, it is somewhat awesome that they've gotten back to being a little more to the left again, but that's only after they've realized that there's only one Fox News Channel and they're not them. Parent Comcast kissing Republican ass over net neutrality laws only got them fucked hardcore in the long run, which is why the Nightly News and Today are down in second place while scandal-free ABC is in first place comfortably.

NBC, ya gotta lotta work to do.

11.28.17 Bee-otch of the Day: Donald Trump

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Donald Trump
Age: 71
Occupation: dust mop
Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: being a racist asshole

--
OK, so why is he president?

We've all heard the story by now of Drumpf honoring Navajo code talkers, and while doing so, he told them that we have a Pocahontas in the Senate, but they are the real deal. Of course, Drumpf is referring to Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who happens to be part Native American. Some conservatives love to pick on Warren for identifying herself as a minority when it comes to various causes, especially since she's mostly white. However, what Drumpf did was, well, stupid.

To me, it's like him honoring a black educator for her years of service and telling her something like "you're very special. You've been around longer than us. We have a sexual harasser in Congress named Conyers and there's a word to describe him, and it's nigger, but you're special. I like you".

But leave it to Drumpf's bloated mouthpiece Sarah Fuckabee to say that what he said wasn't racist at all. Oh, please. If Sean Spicer was still there, he'd be running over that reporter with his lecturn-oh, that's Melissa McCarthy's version of Spicer on SNL, never mind.

Of course, this is Drumpf we're talking about. A Cheeto who overturned Obama's edict not to build the Keystone pipeline underneath Native waters in North Dakota. Of course, the sumbitch is leaking despite newer and safer welding techniques.

It's not even the end of his first year in the White House and Drumpf has pissed off too many people. Hell, there's that part of me that wonders if we're going to be still around when his FCC rids us of net neutrality soon. It makes me somewhat happy that I don't have Comcast or Charter for my ISP, though it still worries me. Hell, I wonder if Drumpf is personally going to do into the National Archives to shred the Constitution into smithereens.

By the way he's acting, it won't shock me if he's getting the paper shredder.

11.27.17 Bee-otches of the Day: The Koch Brothers

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Names: Charles and David Koch
Ages: 82, 77
Occupation: billionaire buttmunches
Last Seen: Kansas
Bee-otched For: making Time run out

--
Time MagazineSports IllustratedPeople and Entertainment Weekly are soon going to be in the same stable as Better Homes and GardensMartha Stewart LivingFamily Circle and the CBS-TV affiliate in Flint and the Tri Cities here in Michigan.

With a little help from two of the most-putrid assholes of mankind.

The Meredith Corporation is buying Time, Inc. for $2.8 billion, $650 million of which is being financed by ultra-conservative Republicans Charles and David Koch. Meredith released a statement that the Kochs will not have any influence on their editorial procedures, nor will they have a seat on their board.

Bear in mind that Time is a favorite of Drumpf's, especially when they made him Person of the Year in 2016, complete with devil horns.

Time, Inc. was a huge publisher in its heyday. It was a force to be reckoned with when in 1989 they merged with Warner Communications to become the media giant Time Warner. Of course, it became AOL Time Warner when they merged with the internet giant, but that got spun off as more and more people were switching from soulless dial-up internet to blazing fast fiber-optic speeds. The same thing happened with the print industry and like AOL, TW ended up spinning off Time, Inc. in 2014, although the company still has Time in their name. Bear in mind that AT&T has proposed merging with TW for over $100 billion.

And by the way, the Meredith/Time buyout thankfully doesn't involve Mad Magazine, which is still in the TW stable. It's now the only magazine TW owns, which might be a reason why they're relocating to Burbank in 2018 after spending all 65 years of its life in New York.

The situation is that the Kochs will do anything to influence our minds. Look at what they did to NPR: when they started funding public radio, they they cut back their coverage of global warming and other environmental issues. I expect the same thing for Time and their sisters. What's even more sad is that Meredith's namesake was a Democrat and a champion for agriculture. Plus, most of Meredith's publications are all geared towards women. I'll betcha most of them don't want to be grabbed by the pussy.

But in the case of Time, I think it's time to give its female readers a jock strap.

Alt 106.7 launched in Detroit

11.22.17

THE END OF 89X?
iHeartMedia kills The D for Alt 106.7

Yet another Howard Stern stomping ground has flipped format this week.

Detroit's WDTW-FM 106.7 - the former WWWW/W4 - has flipped from variety hits as The D to alternative as Alt 106.7, Detroit's New Alternative. iHeart also owns Alt-branded stations in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Birmingham, St. Louis, Dayton, Des Moines, Wichita and a few other markets.

106.7 had been somewhat of a cursed frequency since flipping from its longtime country format in 1999, first to rock AC as Alice 106.7. Over the years, the formats included classic rock, adult hits, rhythmic AC and even a return to country as 106.7 The Fox, which didn't last all that long. The station notoriously aired a Saturday night show called "Hick-Hop", which featured country tunes segued into hip-hop songs and vice versa.

Currently, Alt 106.7 is doing the usual new station launch gimmick with 10,000 songs in a row commercial free. Artists on the new station include Portugal, The Man, No Doubt, Beck, Twenty One Pilots, Vance Joy and The Killers.

Alt 106.7 is Detroit's first AMERICAN alternative station since the ill-fated 94.3 The Bone a few years ago, which was really a translator of the HD signal of hip-hop WGPR 107.5. When WGPR discontinued their HD stream, the station was shuttered. Detroit had many alt-rockers in the 1990s, including Planet 96.3 and The Edge at 105.1.

And yes, 89X, which is technically a Canadian station by law.

With 89X firing all of its American staff and closing their Detroit facilities earlier this year, one would wonder if 1) some of their canned jocks would end up on Alt 106.7 (especially Christina and her awesome Timewarp show) and 2) iHeart will make this station a cheap voicetrack hellhole like they do with most other stations of theirs. I have heard a jock on 106.7 earlier today, and chances are that they can't pronounce the word "Hamtramck".

So, why the flip to alternative? Simple: Entercom took over CBS Radio last week and they've been on a roll with alternative. They turned CHR Amp 92.3 in New York into Alt 92.3 and it was speculated that iHeart wanted the Alt name for that city. With Detroit's Amp 98.7 not flipping last week, iHeart played "you snooze, you lose" and turned 106.7 to alternative, only a few months after flipping to variety hits.

All I can say is only time will tell. As much as I hate iHeartMedia, I might hate Bell Media even more.

11.22.17 Hero of the Day: Patrick McNamara

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Patrick McNamara
Age: 50
Occupation: founder of PowerstreamTV.com
Last Seen: Hudsonville, MI
Awarded For: making cable affordable again

--
The year was 2011. It was a year after I was in a car wreck and almost a decade since my last raise at work. I bought a car that had so many issues that it was nickel and diming me to death.

In September that year, I made a decision that I didn't want to do, but I had to do it: I dumped cable.

Yep, no more wrestling, no more DVR-ing my favorite shows, none of that. I was reduced to simply my local channels. Thankfully, I did find a few websites where I could watch some of my favorite shows and sporting events on my laptop. I even bought a Chromecast stick for my TV.

But still, it wasn't the same.

As a cord cutter, I had to make sacrifices. I missed out on sporting events and so much more. I never even heard of Rick and Morty until I watched their couch gag from The Simpsons a few years ago.

Not long ago, my mom got Sling TV for her Roku and I liked it. I was considering getting one for myself since it was cheap. Then, I paid a visit to Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grandville. I decided to film the goings on that day and upload it to YouTube. While shooting, I passed a kiosk in the food court by DQ/Orange Julius where a guy was giving some people a sales spiel about some box that can replace cable and satellite. He had signs like "Ditch the dish and cut the cord" and "Make TV Great Again". I walked away since I had filming to do.

While watching my footage, I saw the kiosk again and one of the signs read "PowerstreamTV.com". So, I decided to go to the site and even go to their Facebook page. There was the owner, Patrick at another one of his kiosks showing off one of his units. I couldn't believe it. It looked too good to be true: free cable and it's all the major networks and then some. And all I needed was fast speed internet and a TV.

So a few days later, I went back to the kiosk to give one of the units a test. It was simply too fun and too good to be true. So for $350, I became a proud owner of a Freestream unit. I went home, hooked it up and it was awesome.... until the thing started to buffer all over the place.

I grabbed one of the cards at the kiosk advertising the business and called their number. Patrick was on the other line, telling me that it's my ISP's fault. Sadly, he was right. Usually, when my download speed is less than 10 mbps, it will buffer, but since I bitched at my ISP about their slow speeds, viola! They fixed it. Now, I can stream a crap ton of cable channels for free. Even more, Patrick created a Facebook support group for those who are having problems with their units and even makes Facebook Live videos and chats to help make the most out of their PowerStream experience. It's amazing that yes, the units aren't cheap (their cheapest is $150), but it's better than paying $100 per month on cable channels you don't watch.

To me, Patrick McNamara has created something that the cable and satellite companies don't want you to know about. And even more, it keeps getting better and better. Yes, it's not perfect, but then again, the satellite goes out when it rains. Plus, with their video on demand features, you'll never need Netflix ever again. Earlier, I watched last Sunday's Family Guy and am about to watch The Last Man on Earth. Two shows on way past my bedtime. And yes, the streaming quality ROCKS.

Sadly, Pat has shut down his kiosks due to rising rent, but the good news is that his website is alive and well, selling these awesome units. I've even told him that if my mom moves back to Michigan, I would buy her one. That'll be $30 per month Sling won't see and another $10/mo. or so on what Netflix charges these days (don't ask me; besides, I've never watched a single episode of Stranger Things). I recommend it to anybody in need of cutting the cord and using that extra money for better things, especially with Black Friday coming up.

Thanks to Mr. McNamara, he's giving the Comcasts and Charters of the world what they need: a humongous lump of coal.

11.20.17 BACK PAGE: Is 89X done?

ALTERNATIVE CHANGES IN DETROIT?
89X fires former PD while CBS's new owner might flip one to alternative

Is the (ahem) Bell tolling at longtime Canadian alternative radio station 89X out of Windsor/Detroit?
Last week, the station fired long-time programming director Phat Matt, leaving the once-prominent station with just one local jock, morning man Mark MacKenzie, who now has a grueling shift from 6 a.m. to 12 noon. The rest of the day is filled with voicetracked jocks from their sister station in London, ON, Virgin Radio.

As we reported in April, 89X's Detroit office was closed, leaving 20 staffers including some long-time jocks out of work. 89X's ratings on this side of the border have been weak as of late, in part due to Dave and Chuck the Freak's move to 101 WRIF a few years ago.

But, will 89X's last nail be tapped shut?

With Entercom's purchase of CBS Radio being finalized last week, they've already flipped Howard Stern's old New York stomping grounds  - which had been CHR as Amp 92.3 - to alternative as "Alt 92.3". The Big Apple hadn't been with any new rock station since CBS flipped 101.9 to sports WFAN five years ago.

Now, the question is, will Entercom flip one of their Detroit properties? They now own CHR Amp 98.7, country WYCD 99.5, oldies WOMC 104.3, sports 97.1 The Ticket and CBS Sports Radio 1270 and all-news WWJ 950.

Of all the stations they own in Motown, Amp *should* be the one that's toast. They're getting killed by iHeartMedia's Channel 955 in the ratings. Bear in mind that 98.7 was the old home of the legendary WLLZ 98.7, which flipped to smooth jazz in the 90s and then to Amp a few years ago.
In the most-recent Nielsen book, Amp was 15th place with a 2.7 share. Channel was at a 5.0 in 7th place. It's Entercom's lowest-rated FM station.

Currently, Detroit only has three new rock stations: WRIF plus 89X and 93.9 The River out of Windsor. With 89X trimming its staff and shoving CanCon down Detroit's throat, is it time for Entercom to unplug Amp and go American alternative on 98.7? I think so.

IMO, alternative can do well if it's done right. 89X's problem is that Bell Media doesn't seem to give two shits about that station or even its American listeners. When Dave and Chuck the Freak were there, they had a 3 share. When Bell was still subscribing to the Nielsens, 89X had sunk down to a 1 share, making them Motown's least-listened-to radio station. I think what's killing 89X includes their crappy dial position next to public radio stations and the aforementioned CanCon that's required by the Canadian government.

Only time will tell. Detroit deserves better than having to hear stiffs only Canadians like.

11.20.17 Hero of the Day: Malcolm Young

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

A SPECIAL HERO OF THE DAY!

Name: Malcolm Young
Age: was 64
Occupation: founder/rhythm guitarist of AC/DC
Last Seen: paying a visit to his brother, George
Awarded For: giving us High Voltage rock 'n roll

--
One of the founders of one of a band with "Big Balls" passed away on Saturday.

He might not have been as flashy as his younger brother Angus, but Malcolm Young was still rock royalty as the rhythm guitarist of AC/DC, the band the two created in 1973. Although AC/DC started in Australia, the Youngs were from Scotland. They moved Down Under in 1963 after their parents saw an ad on TV for the country. Scotland had a wicked winter and had enough with the snow and cold. Many from the UK were now moving to Australia and that's where Angus and Malcolm's older brother, George helped to create The Easybeats in the early 60s. All of the band's members were from the UK, though they had become expatriated to Australia.

Of course, Angus and Malcolm wanted to be like their older brother, so they formed AC/DC in 1973. In their 44 years together, they've sold over 200 million albums, including over 70 million here in America alone. Although Angus - dressed like a schoolboy - was the face and image of the band, some say it was Malcolm who was the true brains behind the band and was one of the best rhythm guitarists in rock. In 1988, he temporarily left the band to handle his drinking issues - similar to what killed former lead singer Bon Scott in 1980 at 33 - but returned sober.

Sadly, Malcolm left the band in 2014 because it was discovered that he had dementia. He was replaced by his nephew, Stevie, who is only two years younger than him. Malcolm's absence could not come at a worse time for the band since longtime lead singer Brian Johnson was forced to retire due to hearing loss. Plus, drummer Phil Rudd was fired for threatening to kill somebody and bassist Cliff Williams retired. The current lineup of AC/DC is made up of Angus and Stevie Young, drummer Chris Slade (who drummed with the band from 1989-1994 and returned after Rudd's departure) and some no-name singer who's also in a band called "Rose and Guns" or something. I think is name is Axel. Anyway, the band currently has no bassist.

Just a few weeks ago, Angus and Malcolm's older brother, George passed away. Alongside The Easybeats, he had a decent producing career, even producing several of AC/DC's albums. Now, it's Malcolm's turn. Losing both George and Malcolm only weeks apart has got to be tough on Angus and my thoughts are with him and his family. AC/DC gave us the soundtrack of our lives and their music lives on. Hell, I'm proud to say that AC/DC's April 1996 appearance at The Palace of Auburn Hills was my first rock concert, ever. I was 14 and it was an experience I'll never forget, seeing my first-ever rock stars in the flesh.

I came to rock, and today, I salute the great Malcolm Young. May he rock in peace.

11.16.17 Bee-otch of the Day: the person who made me say #MeToo

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------
Name: anonymous
Age: mid-40s
Occupation: unknown
Last Seen: Grand Rapids, MI
Bee-otched For: giving me my #MeToo moment

--

In the past few weeks, many celebrities and politicians have all seen their careers blow up because of sexual encounters.

Harvey Weinstein, Louis C.K., Roy Moore, Kevin Spacey and now Minnesota Senator Al Franken have all been accused of groping and harassing women and men. Some of those people were only teenagers. The people who have made these accusations have all created the hashtag #MeToo, alerting people that they've been sexually harassed or even assaulted.

Well, I have a #MeToo story.

In 2010, my cousin and I used to hang at Mulligan's Bar here in Grand Rapids. During Super Bowl night, I was pulled over for alleged drunk driving and I blew a .06, under the legal limit. So, I decided to avoid drinking from Midnight on when I'm at the bar.

One night a few months later, I was at Mulligan's alone and wondering if my cousin would show up. He didn't. So, I stopped drinking and hung out in the back by the pool tables. Suddenly, this tall black dude asked me "hey man, where's your drink?" "I'm done drinking for the night. I gotta drive home." So, this guy decided to draw me a map of streets to take where there weren't many cops. Then, he asked me to come over to hang out with him at his place. I did, without the suspicion that he was gay.

So anyway, I went over to his apartment and he gave me a beer to drink. He told me that he didn't have cable - only locals - so he put it on his favorite show, Desperate Housewives. Then, he told me that he had a bunch of movies, including straight porn and gay porn. I was like, "so, you're gay?" He said, "well, I'm bi, but I'm mostly towards guys".

Whoo-boy.

As the night lingered on, Desperate Housewives went off and the straight porn was on. During this time, this asshole was pressuring me to sit next to him. I declined. Things were only going to get worse from there on. While watching a scene showing two men having sex with a woman at the same time, the asshole started pleasuring himself and then, he unzipped his pants and started masturbating in front of me. I was sickened. I casually walked out of the living room into his bathroom. I grabbed my shoes and jacket and he was like, "why are you going?" "It's getting late. I'm going home." "Next time you come over, bring some of your pornos, will ya?" I was outta there.

I had a beard at the time, so I shaved it off. Every time I went to Mulligan's and their sister, Billy's Lounge, it seemed that he was there. Thankfully, he didn't recognize me and I avoided him. It was one huge reason why I decided to avoid Easttown bars altogether. My bar life was over since I was now in my 30s and I didn't drink all that much as-is. I even went back to Mulligan's earlier this year because I had a date with a woman I met online. Thankfully, he was nowhere to be seen.

What this asshole did to me was SICK. Not to mention, it made me think differently about gay men. A few years ago, I started attending a church here in GR that accepts the LGBTQ community. Why? Because my family wanted me to be baptized and I didn't want to go to a church that's ultra-conservative. Thankfully, I haven't met any jerks there that resembled said harasser.

The point is, this is why some men HATE gay people. They hate it when women act so cold towards them and then some dude hits them up. Maybe that's why some guys will go to great lengths to harass women. Sometimes in life, when some asshole does crazy shit like the aforementioned douchebag did, ya gotta turn the other cheek and walk away.

Right, Eddie

Earlier this week, a man named Gary Joe Ahrns released a video that went viral, exposing a Walmart in Celina, OH that was tossing out what he thought was good food.

He went to the back of the store and noticed dozens upon dozens of grocery items all lined up and headed for the dumpster. The items included butter, milk, cakes, hot dogs and cheese. A manager walked out and noticed Ahrns making the video and told him that he didn't know why they were throwing it away, but it was a corporate issue. Another employee told Ahrns to call Walmart corporate and then leave. Needless to say, Ahrns was pissed that the biggest retailer on the planet didn't give away the food or even give it to the employees.

A few days after the video went viral, Walmart corporate did release a statement, stating that the Celina store was without power for 14 hours and have to dump all the food from their coolers as protocol like all grocers do when the power goes out for an extended period of time. However, I do smell something fishy, and it's not coming from their coolers.

One of the items that Ahrns took out of the cart was canned ham. Yes, canned ham that was good until 2020. Now, where I shop, the canned ham is not refrigerated. It's next to the canned tuna, soups and even packages of cooked bacon, which is also not refrigerated.

On my Facebook news feed, one person claimed that they've seen their Sam's Club dump out carts of food before. Dumping food is also something farmers do, especially when food prices bottom out.

You know, it's sad when people support this evil and disgusting chain, thinking that they will save some bucks. In the end, The real losers are their shoppers and the family-owned grocers they've fucked over. Remember their Walmart Express stores they had in tiny towns down south? When those town's family-owned stores closed, so did the Walmart Express stores, turning small towns into food deserts. Last week, I just read about a family-owned grocery store here in Michigan that closed after 60 years in business. The store had a cow head on the front of its building, making it a landmark. Now, because of its closure, people now have to drive 12 miles west for groceries. One of the options, of course is Walmart.

Of course, this is Walmart we're talking about. A chain that's worth billions and yet their employees don't make squat. I agree that if they can't sell the food, they should give it to their underpaid employees. But no! It's all about the almighty dollar. Another good reason why I try to support local when I can. And yes, Meijer is the lesser of the two evils between them and Wally World.

I'll betcha that if they could, Walmart could put their own bowel movements on their shelves instead of real food.

11.14.17 Bee-otch of the Day: Roy Moore

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

Name: Roy Moore
Age: 70
Occupation: cowboy wannabe
Last Seen: Alabama
Bee-otched For: not giving up

Is it me, or does the term "far-right conservative" equate to pedophile?

In the past, we knew that Roy Moore was that asshole judge in Alabama who had a monument to the Ten Commandments in his courtroom. He's known for his anti-LGBT values and for being anti-women's rights.

Now, five women have all stepped forward to claim that the former judge all groped them when Moore was in his 30s and they were only teens. The age of consent in Alabama is 16.

The latest to come forward was Beverly Young Nelson, who claimed that Moore groped her when she was 16 and he was in his 30s. She claimed that Moore grabbed her breasts and tried to force her into his crotch. Moore, on the other hand claimed that he never heard of her in his life.

Since the five women have all come out against Moore, many in the Republican party have all come out to tell Moore to concede from running in next month's special senate election in Alabama. However, Moore has said no, simply because he had been leading in the polls against Democrat Doug Jones, though it is now neck-and-neck. Of course, it's no secret that Alabama is a very far-right state. Hell, there was a radio station in Birmingham that burned Beatles records in the 1960s only because John Lennon said in an interview that they were "bigger than Jesus". (To add insult to injury, Birmingham was one of the very few TV markets in the 1960s that didn't have a station that aired The Ed Sullivan Show, meaning that people there couldn't watch the Fab Four's TV debut in 1964.)

The sad thing is that if Moore gets elected, this will further fuck up the Republican party, creating more divide. Also, it'll show how fucked up Alabamans are. But since a lot of people in that state allegedly all slept with their younger sister, well, it makes perfect sense.

Sometimes, I wish the south could be its own country.
