9.25.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Bill Cosby

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Bill Cosby
Age: 81
Occupation: jailbird
Last Seen: Pennsylvania
Bee-otched For: officially going to rot in jail

---

Today was a good day for the dozens and dozens of women that Bill Cosby drugged, raped and tortured over the past 50-odd years.

A judge in Pennsylvania has sentenced the "comedy" legend to three to ten years in prison after he was found guilty for raping and drugging a Temple University employee, Andrea Constrand in 2004. This after some 60 women all alleged that he either raped or drugged them all over a span of 50-plus years.

Judge Steven O'Neill told Cosby at his sentencing that he is not above the law and no matter what he did in the past will not stop him from going to jail. His attorneys all asked for house arrest since he's now legally blind, but prison is something that many who grew up with The Cosby Show and Fat Albert would have never imagined.

Outside of the courthouse, several of Cosby's accusers were hugging and celebrating his sentence. Their day had come. After decades of staying silent, the man who made their lives a living hell after all those years could be now spending the rest of his life behind bars. America's Dad is now a convicted sex offender.

It's amazing that for years and years, Cosby was the person people looked to for clean comedy. Somebody who never used profanity on stage and even attacked The Simpsons for being too crude. Funny, since The Simpsons has now been on TV for nearly 30 years. Yet, it's Cosby who will be heading to jail.

With Cosby's conviction, I hope this means that others will be heading to jail, and soon. It's a shame that we have a TON of assholes out there who SHOULD be in prison, but no. They're too powerful. George W. Bush's stupidity killed over 7,000 innocent Americans and the spineless Democrats like Nancy Pelosi didn't have the courage to impeach him. Michigan governor pRick Snyder poisoned the people of Flint, and even though he was in the same room as him, Obama didn't arrest him. Now, we have Drumpf, who has molested women and now is trying to get a sexual predator acting like Mr. Family Values into the Supreme Court. Ugh.

Life's not fair. Maybe that's why I do applaud when people like Cosby end up behind bars. His years of being a two-faced hack are long over and I hope he dies behind bars. Somebody who hurts women like he did deserve to rot for the rest of their lives.

May that thing being shoved up his ass not be a Jello Pudding Pop, but something else.

9.24.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Those dissing Michael Moore

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

Bee-otched For: calling "Fahrenheit 11/9" a bomb

---

This past weekend was a victory for the state of Michigan.

The Wolverines won, the Spartans won, hell, THE LIONS WON! THEY EVEN BEAT A SUPER BOWL TEAM! Even the Red Wings are showing some promise in the pre-season.

The Tigers, however...

Even at the box office, Michigan ruled with three movies (that I know of) in the top 10 and one at the top of the heap.

Sadly, that film wasn't "Fahrenheit 11/9". It was "The House With A Clock In Its Walls", a movie inspired by an old house in Marshall.

As a matter of fact, '11/9' debuted in 8th place. Yet, critics - most of whom obviously right-winged assholes - are calling it a bomb. However, it did OK, considering that 1) 'House' had over 4,000 screens, 2) '11/9' had the fewest amount of screens of any film in the top 10 (1,700) and 3) '11/9' did a HELL of a lot better than convicted felon Dinesh D'Souza's crapfest "Death of a Nation", which has only made less than $6 million at the box office.

It's also worth noting that '11/9' has already done way better than his last flick, "Where To Invade Next" from a little over two years ago. It didn't help that it debuted the same weekend as a little superhero movie called "Deadpool" that grossed over $780 million at the box office and was in a mere 300 screens. 'Invade' also debuted in 19th place. However, yes, "Capitalism: A Love Story" (2009; $17 million gross) and "Sicko" (2007; $22 million) both did much better. And yes, there was "Fahrenheit 9/11", which grossed over $222 million worldwide.

So why all the haterade toward Moore? Simple: he can do what other political documentary filmmakers can't do and that's bring an audience. Oh, did I mention that there were free sneak previews Wednesday night on Moore's dime? Yep, Moore was giving his film away to those who wanted to see it for free. And BTW, I paid to see it Saturday afternoon.

Personally, like most other Moore films, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The simple message of the movie itself is that America is a leftist country and the reason for Drumpf's victory in 2016 was simply because Americans are PISSED that the Dems would rather reason with the Repukes instead of going at it alone. This is why we don't have universal healthcare, free colleges and so on. You get establishment politicians and you'll get establishment policies that don't work for most people. Look at Obamacare: it's worked for a lot of people, but it hasn't for others. Hell, Obama even shot himself in the ass when he visited Flint and *pretended* to drink a sip of water like a dude going down on a woman in a Skinemax movie.

The thing is, is that look at "Sicko". It made way less than "9/11" but it still opened the debate of healthcare in America. "Bowling For Columbine" got us talking more about guns, and so on. I hope if anything can be achieved with "11/9", it's that it will make people realize that this is a progressive-minded country and that the Dems need to act more progressive or else Drumpf will be a two-term president. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would make an awesome president, but she's only 28. The Dems BETTER get a good candidate for 2020 or else the road to the rebirth of 2008 will happen in 2024.

For those who hate Michael Moore and are laughing about his "bomb", the real "bomb" is living in the White House right now.

9.20.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce
Age: 131
Occupation: business organization
Last Seen: Grand Rapids, MI
Bee-otched For: getting shitty

---

Well, when companies like Meijer and scAmway are a part of your group, I would be bailing too.

Several Grand Rapids businesses, including Founder's Brewery and The Winchester Restaurant and sister Donkey Taqueria have all left the Grand Rapids Chamber over the fact that they have endorsed Repuke Bill Schuette as governor. The reason is because of the current attorney general's stance on LGBTQ issues. The Grand Rapids Pride Center released a statement blasting the Chamber for endorsing Schuette; the statement explained that the Michigan Civil Rights Commission ruled that the state could not discriminate regarding sexual orientation. However, Schuette claims that the civil rights did not include the gay community.

Founder's announcement came hours after Michigan's oldest gay bar, The Apartment Lounge let themselves loose from the CoC (no pun intended).

Now, the Chamber of Commerce is traditionally a motley crew of Repukes. If I had a business in the CoC, I would be pulling out (no pun intended again) because all they do is fuck up the economy. In Shitty, er, Schuette's case, he's pals with Drumpf and his tariffs are already killing American businesses. I predict that if he's re-elected, 2008 will be back with a vengeance.

Michigan CANNOT afford another Repuke governor. pRick Snyder fucked up Flint and made Michigan a Right-to-Work (for less) state. He took credit for Michigan's comeback, though it was Obama's policies that helped all businesses.

The CoC really squirted out a huge mess, didn't they?

9.19.18 Bee-otches of the Day: Artprize

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Artprize
Age: 10
Occupation: overrated art competition
Last Seen: Grand Rapids, MI
Bee-otched For: another year of being a three-week advertisement for Amway

---

Oh, great. Richard Devos hasn't been dead for two weeks and we're stuck again with more scAmway bullshit.

And its name is Artprize, or as we call it here, fArtprize.

I know, the people who made their pieces spent hundreds and some thousands of hours, plus lots of blood, sweat and tears (and semen) completing their pieces for the festival. It's too bad that the people who created the festival are some of the scummiest people around.

And yes, it's the Devos clan.

In this case, it's Rick Devos - the grandson of Rich Devos  - who gave us fArtPrize, which is celebrating 10 years of praying and hoping that all the rooms at the Amway Grand and JM Marriott are filled and maybe, just maybe, some out-of-towners will be buying a car from Fox Motors.

I love the fact that on fArtPrize's website, the first line of Rick Devos' bio page says "Rick DeVos, age 35, is an entrepreneur and investor." Yeah, no shit. It's all because of daddy. Neither Rick or Dick have really worked a day in their lives because of their dad and grandpa. I also love the fact that on their sponsor page, they list Rick's maternal grandparents' foundation, the Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation as a foundation supporter. Funny, since they support the schmuck in Fremont who tried to get Howard Stern off the air.

You see, fArtPrize is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It acts like a left-leaning art festival of self-expression, but instead, it's a three-week festival to support the Devos family and all their aspects. This is a dangerous festival, folks, The Devoses are anti-middle class, anti-LGBTQ and helped to turn Michigan into a Right to Work (for less) state. This is why I'll try to avoid downtown Grand Rapids during this time.

And once again, I hope and pray somebody will yell "fuck 'er in the pussy" if WOOD-TV puts them on TV.

9.18.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Harvest Bible Chapel

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Harvest Bible Chapel
Age: 6
Occupation: megachurch
Last Seen: Traverse City, MI
Bee-otched For: killing rock 'n roll in northern Michigan

---

By the end of this year, Streeters could be a memory like the Tanz Haus, Glacier Dome and Castle Farms before it.

The popular Traverse City concert venue announced that they are in the process of selling their building on Garfield Avenue across from the Cherryland Center to Harvest Bible Chapel, a church whose current meeting place is at Grand Traverse Academy, a charter school. The church has raised $525,920 out of a $1 million goal and now has a purchase agreement with Streeters owner Doug Street.

The Streeters building was listed for sale earlier this year for $2.29 million. According to Street, who has owned Streeters for over 20 years, the reason for selling was because of the fact that it's a seller's market, plain and simple. He also claims that he wants to continue bringing concerts to northern Michigan, but at a different location.

Streeters has been bringing concerts to northern Michigan since it opened in 1998. Over the years, the acts that have played there included Powerman 5000, Static-X, Clutch, Mastodon, Hellyeah, Seether and Saliva, just to name a few.

Oh, and let's not forget Pop Evil, Kittie, Starset, Papa Roach, Halestorm, Killswitch Engage and Jackyl. I hope nobody didn't get sliced in half by that chainsaw.

Currently, Streeters has several events on their schedule, including several 80s bands (L.A. Guns, Bulletboys and Enuff Z'nuff), 2000s rockers Saving Abel (remember "Addicted" and "Lips of An Angel"?), Kid Rock guitarist Kenny Olson and a Beastie Boys tribute band. When news of the impending sale came about, some took to social media complaining of the lack of good concerts Streeters has had over the last year. One would wonder if the upcoming sale played a role, or the simple fact that it's easier for bands to play bigger downstate cities like Grand Rapids, Detroit or even Flint.

For me, the impending sale of Streeters brings up two unpleasant situations of my childhood. When I was a kid, I wanted to go to Castle Farms to see Metallica, Ozzy and other headbangers that played there. Sadly, my overbearing mother kept saying no, especially since she worked there herself. I was able to go to some of their minor shows, like the yearly Reggae Funsplash and a small rock festival that only lasted one year. My mom told me that I could see my first concert there when I turned 13. Well, a few months before I turned 13, Castle Farms was sold to a 4H group. Talk about having the rug pulled from under you. As a matter of fact, I finally got to see my first concert two years later: AC/DC at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Between the Castle's closure (though after the 4H sale fell through, it did reopen for concerts in 1996 with Def Leppard and *ugh* Ted Nugent) and the opening of Streeters, rock concerts up north were very far and few in-between. The National Cherry Festival did a few shows in the mid-90s at the Fairgrounds with bands like The Wallflowers, Collective Soul and Third Eye Blind. But, complaints from the old assholes who lived close to the Fairgrounds caused the Cherry Fest to tone it down. However, both Sheryl Crow and Don Henley pulled out, leaving the Festival with lame-o country and oldies acts.

Then, there's the situation where when I was a teen, my father and I went to a non-denominational church in the Grand Traverse area. My father was a bus driver and on his route, he met a family that went to that church. They invited him and we ended up going a few times a week. My dad went to the singles ministry while I attended their youth ministry. Well, things went out of hand with our ministry homes. My dad dated a woman who cheated on him and my youth ministry threw me and others into small groups. There, they asked me personal questions like "how often do you think about sex?" It was all because of a verse in the NIV Bible where Jesus tells a group of young men that if they think about sex, they're going to hell. The final straw came when the church's pastor asked us all to give him $2 million on a single Sunday. Two of the donors were businessmen who sold their businesses to help fund the church. My Dad and I no longer liked that church, so we quit. Because of what they were doing, I didn't go to another church for years.

Ya know, It's sad that Harvest's parishioners would rather give to their little megachurch instead of doing things that Jesus would actually approve of. You know, giving to Traverse City's growing homeless problem (and I know folks up north who are only squeaking by on $25,000 per year) and helping those in need. Now, chances are that TC might be lucky to get one good rock concert per year. Wanna see a show? Gotta go downstate.

Now, if Street wants to create another venue, God bless him. There's many ideal places in the area. Hell, maybe he might be interested in the old Kmart in Acme, since it's where Tanz Haus stood! That place could hold more people than the current Streeters. If not, well, at least I live in Grand Rapids now. If any of my up north homies need a place to stay, they can HMU.

Streeters, if this is the end, we hardly knew ye.

9.17.18 Bee-otch of the Day: The Detroit Lions

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Detroit Lions
Age: 88
Occupation: junior high school football team
Last Seen: Allen Park, MI
Bee-otched For: another week, another L

---

OK, so I shouldn't be too tough on the Lions. After all, they came within three points of winning and unlike last week, viewers didn't have to sit through Beth Mowins trying to sound buff.

But, an L is still an L.

I'm still wondering if the Lions WILL win a game this year. Next week, they're playing Patricia Matthews' ex-team, the New England Patriots. It's funny how the Lions fire Jim Caldwell, the team's winningist coach in 50-odd years and they replace him with Patricia only because as defensive coordinator, he helped them win a few Super Bowls. Like I mentioned last week, Same shit happened with the Red Wings when they hired a coach who helped the Grand Rapids Griffins win the Calder Cup. Now, the Red Wings are has-beens and it doesn't help that Henrik Zetterberg is retiring after 19 seasons on the ice.

What's even worse is that the Cleveland Browns - who went 0-16 last year - aren't even winless this year after they tied with the Steelers on their first game.

At the end of the game Sunday, Fox announced that there's now a 12% chance that the Lions will make the playoffs since traditionally, 88% of all teams that go 0-2 in the beginning of the season won't make the playoffs. Since they've only won one game this season - albeit in the preseason - That's just about right. But, if Patricia can prove us all wrong, he should do so.

Well, for starters, their QB sucks.

9.13.18 Bee-otch of the Day: The Republican Party

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: The Republican Party
Age: 164
Occupation: the biggest assholes alive
Last Seen: Washington, DC
Bee-otched For: getting soaked

---

As of this writing, Hurricane Florence is getting ready to put the smackdown on the Carolinas.

And Drumpf is sitting there, playing his fiddle while Rome, aka Puerto Rico struggles.

The de facto president is claiming that the number of dead from Hurricane Maria last year is not 3,000. Originally, it was reported that only 64 people had died from the storm last year, but the stifling heat, lack of electricity, food and other factors caused the mass amount of casualties.

I guess Drumpf tossing out paper towels just wasn't enough, eh?

Right now, people in the Carolinas are heading far, far away from Flo. But since Puerto Rico is an island and many of their residents are poor, leaving just isn't an option for many. When Maria hit, many - like Drumpf - practically pretended that Puerto Rico wasn't even a part of the US, which is far from the truth. PR is a part of America as Quebec is a part of Canada. Yeah, PR is a providence and not really a state, but they deserve as much treatment from our country as the rest of America.

The sad thing about Florence is that Drumpf is not the only asshole in regards to the hurricane itself. Pat Robertson told his minions on The 700 Club the other day that he's all prepped for the hurricane and that God has his shield over his properties. Robertson does his show from Virginia Beach, Virginia, which is currently under a tropical storm warning. Now, this is the assclown who prayed that Florida would get hurricanes because of Gay Day at Disney World. He's also the same asshole who persuaded 700 people back in 1966 to donate $10 per month (or $79 today) to keep his struggling TV station in Virginia on the air. In the early 90s, he created a barely legal loophole to sell his broadcast empire to himself. In 1998, he sold it to Rupert Murdoch for $1.5 BILLION. And yet, he still begs his sheep for money daily.

Ya know, There's several hurricanes in the Atlantic right now, and it's troubling that it seems that each one seems to be more destructive or different than the last. The sad thing is that we're stuck with a fake president who is anti-environment and thinks that loosening the restrictions that have fucked up our ecosystem will improve things. Well, think of this: Washington, DC is sinking because of global warming and overall climate change. Good luck draining that swamp, dickhead.

And quit blessing the rains in Africa, Toto.

9.12.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Mike Pence

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Mike Pence
Age: 59
Occupation: Drumpf's sidekick
Last Seen: Grand Rapids, sadly
Bee-otched For: coming here

---

One of the worst things about living here in Grand Rapids is the fact that the wealthy Hollanders are all buddies with the Repukes.

With the passing of Richard Devos last week, it was somewhat appropriate that vice president Mike Pence came to town.

The veep spoke at several places in town, including a Mill Steel plant and (yep) Amway Grand Hotel. I turned on the news at 6 p.m. tonight and the first thing they talked about was that Pence paid tribute to Devos in a lengthy speech.

Needless to say, it was dinnertime and I wanted to puke. The local media's asskissing of Devos and all of the "positive" things he did and not talk much about the bullshit he left made me happy that I escaped to the kitchen.

Of course, Pence and Devos deserved each other. Devos hated the LGBT community and as Indiana governor, Pence made it easier for Jebus freaks to judge against gays, i.e. not make wedding cakes for them and so on. Pence also talked about the economy and attacked Democrats like Debbie Stabenow for not supporting Drumpf's tax cuts.

Ya know, I remembered when a tornado hit west Michigan a few years ago, WOOD-TV 8 *SHOULD* have began the news with tornado coverage. Instead, they began the news with an interview with Pence talking about how he wants to eliminate Obamacare. As somebody who just paid $1,000 for surgery, I think it's sad that the Repukes want to fuck up our already-fucked up health care system. My stepmother is battling skin cancer and is paying shit tons of money since her deductible is $6,000.

The fact is that the November midterms are only two months away and we can make things hard for Drumpf and Pence. It's time to take America back and tell these bullies to piss off.

And yes, this means you, west Michigan.

9.11.18 Bee-otches of the Day: Detroit Lions

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

Name: Detroit Lions
Age: 88
Occupation: supposed professional football team

Bee-otched For: making me miss Monday Night Raw for no reason

---

When I was on Wikipedia just now, I read part of the article of the Detroit Lions. The first line of the article was "The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan."

Too bad the word "supposed" wasn't placed between "a" and  "professional" and "professional" wasn't between quotation marks.

Last night proved to us all that if the Mitten Kittens make it to the playoffs, it will be a miracle. They did score the first touchdown, but from there on, it was a total abortion.

The Jets' rookie QB, Sam Darnold, was a master at interceptions when he was USC. Well, last night, the torch was passed to the Lions' 30-year-old vet Matt Stafford, who threw four interceptions throughout the game. There was fault in all of the Lions' divisions: offense, defense and special teams. To make matters worse, this was the official debut of the team's new head coach Patricia Matthew, who should have stayed with the Patriots.

In the pre-season, the Lions went 1-3, only beating the Tampa Bay Bucs. To add insult to injury, they lost to the lowly Cleveland Browns 35-17. (At least the Browns won't be loss-less this season since they tied with the Steelers on Sunday.)

Patricia replaced Jim Caldwell, who was the Lions' most-winning coach since Gary Moeller's seven-game stint in 2000. Go even further and there was Joe Schmidt, who coached the Lions from 1967-72. Caldwell was let go at the end of last season simply because the Lions didn't make the playoffs though they had a respectable 9-7 record. However, small mistakes were made that cost them games. Patricia spent 14 seasons with the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots with the last several as their defensive coordinator.

Now, to me, the Lions are taking a page out of the Detroit Red Wings' playbook in regards to Patricia. Their current coach, Jeff Blashill coached their affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins to a Turner Cup win a few years ago. When Mike Babcock went to the Maple Leafs, the Wings hired Blashill. Even though the Wings made the playoffs in his first season, the team has missed them for the past two. Currently, Blashill is the Wings' first overall losing coach since the mid-80s.

Sadly, Detroit's sports teams are in dire need of fixing. Part of the reason, too is that their owners - Ilitch, Davidson and Ford - all died and all but Davidson's families are wondering what to do. Now, I will admit that Martha Ford is probably a tougher owner than her late husband Bill, but in the case of the Ilitches, well, the Tigers aren't in the playoffs this year. Next year? Well, I'm thinking more like a few more. At least I'll give Ron Gardenhire the benefit of the doubt that he's a better manager than Brad Ausmus and the Tigs won't be the worst team in baseball like last year.

Of course, I gotta mention the Pistons. Dwane Casey lead the Raptors to the playoffs and now I hope he'll try to work on the long-suffering Pistons. Since buying the team from William Davidson's much-younger wife in 2011, Tom Gores' record as owner (and only the third in the team's history) has been hit and miss. But from a financial standpoint, the team went from being only worth $325 million seven years ago to being worth over a billion. Plus, the move to Little Caesars Arena last year might be a stepping stone to help the long-suffering team, which had trouble selling seats last year.

The point is, a good sports team relies on its fans. I know, Lions GM Bob Quinn is a Patriots guy and wants the Lions to be LIKE the Pats. However, with an average, overpaid QB like Stafford and the rest of the team not knowing the hole from their ass, it ain't gonna happen. I loved watching all of their fans leaving Ford Field in the third quarter. Watching a dumpster fire was definitely more entertaining.

With this being the 17th anniversary of 9/11, the Jets DESERVED to win, IMHO.

Sadly, the Lions played so effeminately that Beth Mowins' deep voice couldn't make up for the lack of testosterone at Ford Field.

9.10.18 Bee-otch of the Day: the west Michigan media

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday; Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Sunday morning on Chuck69.com.

Name: the west Michigan media

Last Seen: Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo
Bee-otched For: kissing Richard Devos' dead ass... even before his death

---

Last weekend, I was very thankful that I avoided downtown Grand Rapids like the plague.

For several weeks, I saw signs all around the area advertising CityFest. When I saw the words "Luis and Andrew Palau" above the logo, I knew that it had to be a Jesus fest.

Boy, was I right.

Over 15,000 people attended both days of the event, which featured preachers who all likely begged for a down payment on their next Lexus and shitty CCM acts who repeat the same eight words eight times.

And to make matters worse, guess who came to town? Why! It's none other than Justin Bieber. Sadly, he's a fan of shitty preachers and music.

And guess who helped to create the event? None other than the now-passed scAmway co-founder Richard Devos, who croaked last week at the age of 92. He was good friends of the Palaus; Luis was known for crusading with Billy Graham. Not long ago, the Argentinian announced that he was battling inoperable lung cancer.

All weekend, stations like WOOD-TV had been kissing Devos' ass and calling him a friend to Grand Rapids. Even WZZM-13 had been airing a top-of-the-hour ID slide honoring him. Personally, if I owned a Grand Rapids TV station, I would be airing a slide with Devos getting poked with devil's yokes with the Sanford and Son theme song playing in the background.

WOOD-TV 8, OTOH has been airing a promo with Devos saying that he was thankful for God for building him a good life. I wonder if this God is the one whose son said that it's easier for a camel to go through an eye of an needle than for a rich man to go to Heaven. Oh, wait a minute! Devos was CRC Dutch and probably read from the King James Bible.

Not long ago, I was hearing a sermon from a now-retired minister from the left-leaning United Church of Christ. He talked about how most left-leaning churches (and even a few Catholic and Baptist churches) read from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible while most of the far-right-winged evangelical churches read from the King James or New International Versions, which was translated from the Greek texts for a king. Of course, when you're dealing with a king, you're dealing with putting men over women and slaves. Case in point: 1 Corinthians 6:9, which lists groups of people not going to Heaven. NRSV uses "male prostitutes", KJV uses "homosexuals" while NIV uses "men who have sex with men". Hmmmmm. Ya know that the Greek word "malakoi" was created long before the term "homosexual" was created, so therefore, it shows how wrong King James and his asskissers were.

Ya know, why in the hell would Grand Rapids TV stations honor a monster who hated gays, even though the Bible says to love everybody? Sorry, but the dude was full of hate in his heart and it's funny how people honor him with some stupid Jesus fest. This is part of the reason why I'm so happy to have Powerstream TV, which enabled me to watch WDIV-4 out of Detroit. While WOOD-TV was kowtowing to Devos and his false legacy, WDIV was reporting on a shooting at a White Castle that killed a black man. Since the family that owns WC are huge Drumpf supporters, it's another good reason to avoid that place. Five Guys all the way!

The good news is that Rich Devos will be eventually buried and WOOD-TV, WZZM, Fox 17 and Sinclair's WWMT-3 will move on. The bad news is that Devos' legacy will move on through his survivors and their businesses like Fux Motors and the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team. If Devos and Jay Van Andel didn't create scAmway, Grand Rapids would probably be a more-progressive town where people are treated more fairly. Blacks wouldn't be hounded by cops and the middle class would be paid more.

By next year, sadly, Luis Palau will probably be dead and other preachers could be coming to town. I wouldn't be too surprised if any of those shysters have shows on TBN.

Where's Stephen Paddock where you need him?

9.6.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Richard Devos

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Richard Devos
Age: was 92
Occupation: crooked old man
Last Seen: being poked with yokes
Bee-otched For: making shitloads of money with shit

---

The world has lost Richard Devos, the multi-billionaire co-founder of Amway. He died at his home in Ada Township earlier today at the age of 92.

That's 92 years too many.

Devos and his partner, Jay Van Andel started scAmway in 1959 after 10 years of selling nutritional supplements. Eventually, scAmway became a huge company by selling garbage through a pyramid scheme. Eventually, Devos became one of the ten wealthiest persons in America. At his death, he was worth over $5 billion.

Devos was also a huge supporter of severely-right-winged causes and his children followed in his footsteps like The Sorcerer's Apprentice. As we all know, Devos' daughter-in-law is Betsy Devos, a bitch who has never worked a single fucking day in her life and is now working hard to fuck up the public school system. Like the Devoses, Betsy's parents, Edgar and Elza Prince were a bunch of right-winged kooks.

Along with scAmway, Devos was also the owner of the Orlando Magic basketball team. Known for his strong stance against the LGBT community, Devos notoriously gave over $1.5 million of his own money to fight against pro-gay causes. However, he ended up giving $500,000 to the victims of the Pulse shooting massacre in 2016. Why? Two words: DONALD STERLING. When Sterling was fighting to keep the Los Angeles Clippers after a tape was discovered of him telling his mistress not to bring blacks to their games, he told NBA brass about Devos' homophobia. Being a Christian Reformist, Devos is one of those who believes that King James wrote The Bible and that God hates gays, women and virtually anybody who isn't a white man.

What's sad is how the media here in Grand Rapids is covering Devos' death. I just saw a top of the hour ID slide on WZZM-13 that had his face with the caption "Remembering Rich Devos". Personally, if I were 13, I'd replace it with an image of Devos rotting in hellfire with Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" in the background. Apparently, WOOD-TV 8 devoted 16 minutes of their noon newscast to Devos and his legacy. One clip of him showed him saying "I told my children that this is our town and you are responsible for it". Of course, this is a man whose name is on several downtown buildings and his children also run several businesses like the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team and Fox Motors (Devos, BTW is Dutch for "the fox"). The word "Devos" on a downtown Grand Rapids building is pretty akin to swastikas in Nazi Germany. Also, his son, Dick unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2006. He lost simply because, well, who wants somebody from scAmway as this state's governor? His grandson was also the creator of fArtPrize.

Richard Devos was anti-union and anti-worker. As somebody who once worked also for a Hollander who never gave his workers raises, I should know. I love it how people talk about how the Devoses helped shape Grand Rapids. In reality, they fucked it all up. As a matter of fact, I had a cousin who worked for one of Fox Motors' dealerships here in GR and he didn't last long because they treated him like horseshit. He now lives in the Detroit area, married with a young daughter with another on the way and now works in real estate. He always talked about how in GR, the Hollanders controlled the area and their attitude is that it's all about themselves and not others. And sadly, he's right.

I know, it's not nice to bash the dead, but when you're an asshole like Richard Devos, I would proudly dance and piss on his grave all at the same time. Just because your name's on a few buildings doesn't make you the greatest human being. It's people like the middle class - or what's left of it - that builds a great city, not assholes like Richard Devos.

So, where is he now? I think it has to do with Procter and Gamble's old "moon and stars" logo....

9.5.18 Bee-otch of the Day: Nike

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

Name: Nike
Age: 54
Occupation: sports apparel maker
Last Seen: Beaverton, OR
Bee-otched For: just doing the wrong thing for publicity

---

It's funny how the company named for the Greek goddess of victory created a publicity dud.

Yesterday, Nike unleashed a new ad featuring former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick that's supposed to be inspirational. The ad also features the Williams sisters, LeBron James and other athletes that are on the Nike payroll.

The ad honors the 30th anniversary of Nike's famous "Just Do It" slogan. Ah, yes, the days of when wearing $175 Air Jordan sneakers could make you jump as high as Michael Jordan himself... Not.

Anyway, many are attacking Nike for allowing Kaepernick to appear in the ad campaign, which has the saying "believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything". The former San Francisco 49er is currently suing the NFL because he hasn't played in two years. He was dropped by the 49ers in 2016 in part due to the controversy he started by kneeling while the National Anthem is playing. Kaepernick did so in protest of police brutality towards African Americans. Since then, many other athletes have joined in his protest, though the NFL did announce not long ago that they would fine any player for kneeling or not being present for the National Anthem.

Now granted, I totally agree that what the NFL is doing is unconstitutional. Nobody needs to be forced to stand for the National Anthem, especially if it violates their political or religious views. If people want to bash our government, they have the First Amendment right to do so. With Drumpf as president, that right is definitely needed.

However, despite that commercial, that inspirational message gets lost knowing the fact that, well, Nike is not a very nice company. Their CEO and founder, Phil Knight is worth over $25 billion and gives religiously to the (you guessed it) the Repukes. Not only that, Nike doesn't have any American plants. Those $175 Air Jordans were probably made in a sweatshop in Vietnam by a worker making pennies per hour with material that only takes a few bucks to make.

I'll never forget the scene in Michael Moore's "The Big One" where he actually visits Phil Knight at Nike headquarters. He asked Knight why Nike has no plants here in America, and his response was "nobody in America wants to make shoes". So, Mike goes to Flint, MI where he starts petitions for Nike to build a plant there. Thousands of people signed the petition, and guess what! Mike goes back to Beaverton with the petitions and a video with people telling him to start up Nike factories. Phil's response? He walks out of the room.

Since that movie was made, Nike is still making billions with hardly any American workers. Oh, wait! They have LeBron James, who used a part of his Nike bucks to build a school in Akron, OH for underprivileged kids. Nice, though it would be nicer if Nike had a plant or two in Akron to keep people working and off of welfare. Hell, what's sad is that Akron used to have a nice shopping mall, Rolling Acres and it closed a few years ago. Why? Simple: no jobs, no money. No money and lots of crime. Hell, Akron has another - albeit smaller - mall, Chapel Hill and even that's struggling, too.

Yet, I'll betcha that every time Nike comes out with a LeBron or Air Jordan shoe that causes pandemonium at the malls and especially black people are involved in the melee, Phil Knight's smile becomes more and more wretched. More money for him and more money for the Repukes. Yet, these people who buy his shoes are probably broke by the time they exit the checkout at Foot Locker.

Look, I don't own Nike shoes, nor do I plan to buy them. I only buy shoes that are comfortable, period. Hell, during the summertime, I wear cheap flip-flops. I don't need a fucking multi-million-dollar athlete telling me that his shoes make him jump higher than the competition's. If the shoes I buy are made here, that's a plus.

Like I said, I totally agree. If somebody wants to sit or kneel for the National Anthem, let them. But the fact that Colin Kaepernick sold his soul to Nike with his beliefs only cheapens them. The real winner here is Phil Knight with his billions.

In the meantime, good 'ol Drumpf tweeted: "Just like the NFL, whose ratings have gone WAY DOWN, Nike is getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts. I wonder if they had any idea that it would be this way? As far as the NFL is concerned, I just find it hard to watch, and always will, until they stand for the FLAG!"

Maybe since the left won't support a company that makes sweatshop shoes and the right won't support a company who has Colin Kaepernick under contract, yeah, Drumpf is totally right on this one.

9.4.18 Bee-otch of the Day: WWTV 9&10

BECOME AN AFFILIATE OF T-SHIRT HELL AND MAKE SOME MONEY!

Bee-otch of the Day honors are awarded Monday through Thursday, Bee-otch of the Week is awarded Friday on Chuck69.com.

-------

/
Name: WWTV/WWUP-TV
Age: 64
Occupation: CBS affiliate
Last Seen: Cadillac, MI
Bee-otched For: getting burned

---

Last Friday morning, a piece of northern Michigan TV history went up in flames.

The long-time studios of WWTV/WWUP-TV, aka 9&10 News (and what a dumb name for a TV station) burned to the ground. Luckily, nobody was injured. The station has been broadcasting from new studios south of Cadillac since last year. The old studios housed the station's transmitter for Channel 9, which were destroyed the the blaze. The station did announce plans to demolish the old building sans the transmission facilities recently.

The old studios were built in 1961 and it replaced another building that was destroyed in a blaze that year. What happened was a transmitter part overheated when the station was off the air one night and the fire spread to the rest of the station. WWTV - then at Channel 13 - was off the air for two weeks as engineers scrambled to rebuild the station.

The newly-rebuilt station, which was near the village of Tustin in northern Osceola County was expanded and grandfathered over the years. Of course, the station moved its quarters to their current location last year to better accommodate sister Fox affiliate WFQX (aka Local 32) and to please employees whose vehicles were destroyed from chunks of ice that fell from the station's tower throughout time.

Granted, WWTV and WFQX will rebuild their facilities and both stations will be back on the air for those reliant on rabbit ears. But ya know? It sucks to be them. One reason why I created this site was BECAUSE of 9&10 and how they treated their viewers when they canceled Howard Stern's Saturday Night TV show in 1999. Granted, the show had few local sponsors and had little promotion, but the sad thing is WHAT 9&10 replaced the show with: infomercials. And guess whose infomercials they aired? Why, it was THE NRA! And how appropriate that the station aired them just WEEKS after Columbine!

Also, I fume over the fact that five years after 9/11 and CBS was airing a documentary on the event, the station decided to air some dopey 80s movie because their excuse was that the special had "too much profanity" and that they created some bullshit claim that the FCC would fine them $10 million and take away their licenses. The reality was that the 9/11 special had no spots for commercials and it was an election year. Since Dick(head) Devos was running for governor at the time, how much ya wanna bet that they wanted to get into his pockets?

But that's the sad reality of 9&10, Fox-er, Local 32 and the Iacobelli family, which owns the stations. When the family created a shell company - Cadillac Telecasting - to "own" WFQX and when ABC 29&8 dumped The 700 Club, they were quick to pick up the show and Pat Robertson's BS. They also carried Kenneth Copeland's daily program, which they ended up canceling.

The sad reality is that 9&10/Fox 32 might be the lesser of all the major TV evils up in northern Michigan all because of who owns NBC 7&4 and ABC 29&8: Sinclair. True, there's all-news WMNN MiNews26, but that station's good if you can withstand green anchors and Chamber of Commerce-style reporting. But, hey! They were the first news outfit up north to broadcast in HD!

Ya know, I love it when Pat Robertson bitches and moans that the hurricanes Florida gets is because of the Gay Days Disney World has. Well, the truth is because of global warming. But in 9&10 and Fox 32's case, maybe the fire at their old HQ was because of God shaking his head at them for even airing Jebus freak garbage and pro-gun infomercials. It only makes me happier that here in Grand Rapids, we have four choices for local TV news and not two or three, depending on where you live. Granted, no news station is perfect, but at least nobody in west Michigan is selling out to Pat Robertson. True, we have Sinclair owning CBS affiliate WWMT-3, but at least we have three other stations to choose from.

And unlike most of the female anchors on 9&10, most of the newswomen here in west Michigan - save for Catherine Behrendt - are actually actually physically fit.
