On Sunday, a simple game of John Madden Football turned deadly.

Two people were murdered and ten people were injured at a Madden Football tournament in Jacksonville. The shooter, David Katz was a professional Madden player angry over losing one of the games in the tournament. So, he opened fire at the two contestants, 22-year-old Eli Clayton and 27-year-old Taylor Robertson, killing them both. Katz ended up putting the gun on himself.

Katz, 24 bought the two guns he used in the melee legally despite the fact that he was treated for schizophrenia and dealt with psychological and emotional issues when he was a teen. The fact that somebody sold a gun to somebody with mental illness should piss off many, including the media.

But instead, the media wanted to shift their attention instead to a man who even though wasn't the greatest pal to the NRA and was pro-environment, was anti-women's rights, had a meh record on LGBT rights and opposed having Martin Luther King Day.

As we all know, John McCain died on Saturday night from a year-long battle with brain cancer at 82. I have mixed feelings regarding McCain. I hated a lot of his politics and I DEFINITELY hated the fact that he made a star out of Sarah Palin when he was running for president in 2008. But as somebody who recently lost his aunt because of the disease, I do have a soft spot for Sen. McCain. At least he did show compassion for the Democrats, especially for Joe Biden when his son, Beau was fighting the disease.

I understand, mass shootings in gun-crazy America are becoming a dime a dozen. Hell, I was shocked when I turned on THREE Jacksonville stations on Sunday afternoon and instead of covering the shooting, they were airing regular programming. Hell, I think NBC affiliate WTLV was airing an infomercial!

The point is, the national networks kinda swept this story to #2 of the night while McCain was #1 and to me, it's not fair. I think we need to get all the gun nuts out of politics come November and try to end gun violence in America once and for all.

Even though I kinda hate it when Dems and Repukes work together since being in the middle doesn't get us anywhere *COUGHTELECOM96COUGH*, at least McCain had *some* dignity.
