This was a sad weekend for the city of Grand Rapids.

On Friday, the city and the rest of the world mourned the loss of former First Lady Betty Ford. During her 93 years on this earth, Ford proved that she should have been president and not her husband. She stood for womens' rights and most importantly helped countless amounts of people fight their drug addictions through her Betty Ford Clinic. She used her personal - yet unfortunate - experiences to help others and make them stronger. I was considering going downtown to sign her condolence book, but decided that there were more-worthy people than me who should have signed it instead.

But the day before Ford's death, the city was on edge over a distraught man with a sad and violent past.

A black man who was just let out of prison, 34-year-old Rodrick Shonte Dantzler used a stolen gun to kill seven people including his own 12-year-old daughter and her mother. He also targeted ex-girlfriends and killed them and their family members. He led police on a wild chase through the city of Grand Rapids, shooting at pedestrians and vehicles and even leading them onto I-96 and US-131 where he even crossed the median and drove onto oncoming traffic. Thankfully, no accidents happened, but Dantzler held three more people hostage. In the end, Dantzler had to give up. A self-inflicted gunshot wound took his life. It was the most-violent day in Grand Rapids history.

Dantzler was bi-polar and was committing crimes at 15. He's been in jail multiple times for breaking and entering and domestic violence. He had been under police supervision since 2005 after he was released for assault. Even his mother had a restraining order against him after he attempted to burn down her house at age 18.

With a recent rash of shootings, Grand Rapids is surely giving Detroit a run for its money in terms of crime and corruption. But guess who's the real loser in all this: Judy Rose.

Remember Judy? She's the 71-year-old president of the Black Hills Citizens for a Better Community group who created a way she thought would eliminate crime in the city five years ago: ban full-nude dancing at all the city's strip clubs. Through an "anonymous" donor, she raised thousands of dollars to challenge the city's former laws and won. The clubs threatened to sue her and the city, but thanks to activist Republican judges such as Robert Holmes Bell (yet another reason why I personally boycott Mars Hill Church), she got her way. Even city mayor George Heartwell was against the ordinance, claiming that there's no link between crime and strip clubs.

The law went into effect midnight August 26, 2006. Since then, the strip club owners have battled to fight the law to no avail. It's also worth noting that because of the laws affecting both Grand Rapids and as of New Years Day 2011 Kalamazoo, the only full-niude club left in west Michigan is Muskegon's Odyssey.

It's well-rumored who the "anonymous" donor was to Rose: Dick and Betsy DeVos. Why? For starters, when Dick ran for governor in 2006, she appeared in one of his political ads. It's also a well-known fact that Betsy's parents, Edgar and Elza Prince were huge supporters of far right-winged causes like Focus on the Family and the American Decency Association. Also, Betsy's brother is the troubled founder of Blackwater/Xe Erik Prince.

Once again, Trent Reznor is a genius for stating "bow down before the one you serve, you're gonna get what you deserve".

For bowing to the DeVoses and Judy Rose, the city of Grand Rapids is getting what it deserves for caring only about peanuts while elephants walk by. Unemployment has risen tremendously and so has crime. While the city talks about demolishing the old GM plant, the DeVoses were busy funding the retarded LipDub video which didn't create jobs and only showed people the "good side" of Grand Rapids, complete with Amway staffers, city officials and yes, Bill Steffen.

The tragic irony of the Rodrick Dantzler incident is that he fired shots very close to one of my follower's house. His wife even had to chase four kids into their house who were playing outside. He told me that he doesn't care how much he'll be losing on his home, but he's moving.

Folks, there's a reason why Newsweek just rated Grand Rapids as the 10th dying city in America. At my workplace, we have a 60-year-old woman doing the job of two 20-year-old men and she hates it. She works there because she lost her job of 40 years and is being forced to start over. The overall mood of my workplace is sad, and so is the rest of the city. I hear the same 'ol, same 'ol, and I'm echoing it myself: I want to move. Hell, I was talking to my father - who lives in Kentucky - and he told me that Ford is adding on 1,800 new jobs at a facility in Louisville that will make their Escape SUV. So why haven't we heard much in the way of job creation here in Grand Rapids?

Point is once again, bow down before the one you serve, you're gonna get what you deserve. This area is loaded with idiot Republicans who make up lies about black people, stating that the Democrats want to give our tax dollars to crack whores in Detroit. In reality, the Republicans are screwing over the economy by giving the rich money made by hard-working Americans so it stays in their accounts while the rest of us get screwed.

End result: high unemployment, high crime and seven innocent souls lost by a man who was failed by the system.

Look, Grand Rapids, shit or get off the pot. You need to create good, high-paying jobs or else I'm outta here. Right now, most of the people like myself are stuck on one rung of the ladder or get pushed down and hate it. It's time for a change. It's time to listen to the people, not Amway. No wonder why you're dying, because in the end, it's all about the Benjamins.

Don't make me say, "don't let the door hit you on the ass."
