----
On Saturday night, I was minding my own business here at home, watching old episodes of Family Guy. That was when my phone started buzzing.

It was my AP news app, telling me about a mass shooting in Kalamazoo in which six people were killed and two were injured. I immediately flipped to WOOD-TV 8 and they were all over the story. Police were looking for a middle-aged man driving a Chevy HHR. Save for the useless WZZM-13, all the stations in town did a fairly-decent job covering the massacres.

By morning, the police found their man: 45-year-old Jason Dalton, an Uber driver who had never been arrested before and never had a criminal record. He is being suspected for shooting at random people in the area between 5:30 and 10:30 at night. Four of the murdered were a group of older women who met together at the Cracker Barrel. The two other victims were a father and son looking at cars at Seelye Kia.

To many here in west Michigan, this is definitely unwanted news, especially when there's a mass shooting everyday in this country. Until Saturday night, we never had a shooting that made the national news. But sadly, that record is broken.

In a state already plagued with one of its most-important towns having to suffer with a polluted water system, it's one more challenge for Rick Snyder and anybody running for president (and just to let you know, I've seen countless ads for Bernie Sanders here this weekend). When is the madness with guns going to end? When are we going to have real gun control in this country? The real tragedy is thinking about it.

But there is some good news: Jeb Bush is no longer running for president. I think even the Republicans in this country have given the Bush Crime Family the message that the jig is up. It's too bad that the rest of the remaining members of the clown car that are still running will be just like him if they're elected.

The only way to stamp out gun violence is simply to vote against politicians that are pro-NRA and tell them that we can't allow this BS anymore. It's time for action. We need to work with everybody from politicans to community leaders to help stop the madness. We also need to help those with mental issues. Could Dalton have a mental problem that needed to be treated? Of course, thanks to Reagan closing all the mental hospitals, that's kinda difficult.

Yet another reason NOT to vote Repuke.
